The Wild Animal Sanctuary

The mission of The Wild Animal Sanctuary (TWAS) is to rescue and provide life-long homes for captive great cats, bears, wolves and other large carnivores, which have been abused, abandoned & exploited

We rescue - both nationally and internationally - abused and confiscated Lions, Tigers, Bears, Wolves and other large carnivores that were found in basements, garages, apartments and other terrible places and give them a permanent home at the 720 acre sanctuary.

1. Exotic animals are not pets, and should not be bred, sold, traded or used for personal gain.

2. Large carnivores in captivity should not be kept in small cages and deserve space to roam freely in open spaces.

3. National Legislation is needed to stop private ownership and breeding of exotic animals such as large carnivores.
