About this Petition:
In the feature documentary "The Cove," a team of activists and filmmakers infiltrate a heavily-guarded cove in Taiji, Japan. In this remote village they witness and document activities deliberately being hidden from the public: More than 20,000 dolphins and porpoises are being slaughtered each year and their meat, containing toxic levels of mercury, is being sold as food in Japan, often times labeled as whale meat.
The majority of the world is not aware this is happening. The Taiji cove is blocked off from the public. Cameras are not allowed inside and the media does not cover the story. It's critical that we get the word out in Japan. Once the Japanese people know we believe they will demand change.

I worked for 10+ years in the veterinary field as a tech. I worked both private practice and emergent care. What some people would come in and say *this just happened* sickened me. No animal deserves what some people do.

I do love animals and I think that there are animals that have more feelings than some people...It seems unbelievable to me what some "people" can do to animals.

I worked in a Vet clinic for about 4 years----the horrors that some animals have been put thru. This kinds of stuff reaffirms my belief in God---he tells about how mankind will be in the end of times. Lots of horrible crap. If this isn't the end--I hope I'm not around when it turns even worse. It breaks my heart as it is seeing any animal, child or old person mistreated. The rest of you can fend 4 yourself! LOL ( Just kiddin') So I'm happy that there are still people who'll stand up for the ones who can't do it themselves. This is really a lesson that 1 person CAN make a difference---Animals are our gifts from God---Look at what we've done to our toys! How sad and ungrateful. Thanks to all those speaking out I believe every voice helps!
