I just wanted to ask all of my facebook friends to donate any large clothes that they don't wear anymore to the fellas leaving San Quentin that don't have any clothes!! We have too many smaller sizes but REALLY need XXL and larger shirts, pants, sweatshirts and jackets. If you have any items you wish to donate, stick 'em in a bag and lemme know. I'll come pick them up even. THANK YOU!!!!!

On Friday, January 8 CRP co-sponsored a Santa Clara/San Mateo County resource fair at San Quentin. Service providers from both counties showed up with information about programs and services, and 25 men paroling to those counties attended. We are pleased to collaborate with San Quentin and these wonderful service providers to bring information directly to clients that can help them successfully reenter their communities.

The challanges that face parolees in light of the recent State Budget cuts have been further reduced with the elimination of 75% of the Treatment, Education, and Vocational programs that are (were) availiable. I am grateful for the efforts of all involved with your cause and invite you to join ours as well: http://apps.facebook.com/causes/36134...

We need large men’s clothes for our parole clothing program! We also need financial help, as mailing each box costs $5-$8 each. Contact us on Facebook or at info@ca-reentry.org if you’d like to help. Thank you!

I met with a former inmate of San Quentin in his hometown of Pittsburg, Ca. this week! He was one of the several hundred men that we have helped with resources to reenter society after incarceration. We helped get him in to a substance-abuse treatment program once he was paroled. He was there for 120 days, has been on his own for two months now and is doing fabulous! Good job, clean & sober, good head on his shoulders! It was very rewarding to witness his success. He said he couldn't have made it this far without us! Go Porfie!

Also, I send you an email requesting info on board membership! I would love the opportunity to come alongside you with this project. I think its amazing!

I'm very concerned about the plight of the inmate and the odds against them. I visit Folsom State Prison weekly, meet and talk with inmates at a high security prison in one of the toughest facilities on the property. There is not a lot of hope. I can see these are not hardened criminals even though they may be serving life without parole. These are not the same men that came to prison. So what happens if they get out? Do you think the State is going to help? Faith based organizations are making the biggest impact. Check out www.capa.com that is Christian Associations for Prisoner Aftercare. These are the people who are making a difference. Our lame system only to lock them up again. The statistics are shameful. Please post SOMETHING here to express how you feel and what you know. Thank you.

We received our first foundation grant last week and we are on our way to significantly expanding our work and making a difference to the thousands of incarcerated persons in California, starting at San Quentin. Thank you to our anonymous donor for the tremendous generosity!
