About War Against Human Trafficking

To prevent human trafficking in the Philippines, bring the perpetrators to justice and rebuild the lives of the victims

According to the US Department of State Trafficking in Persons Report of 2005, around 600,000 to 820,000 men, women, and children are trafficked across international borders each year, approximately 80 percent are women and girls and up to 50 percent are minors. Child trafficking is the 3rd largest and fastest growing criminal activity in the world, next to arms and drugs. It is considered as the one of the modern forms of slavery.

In South East Asia alone, some 225,000 women and children are trafficked across borders. Globally, traffickers profit from this $32-billion-a-year industry. They operate using underground machineries well-oiled by culture of corruption. Because they can sell and resell children and women many times, traffickers can earn as much as they want. It is high in profit and low on penalties. Trafficking is a crime that transcends borders and does not care about age, gender or race of victims. It perpetuates poverty as it preys on the most vulnerable members of society especially children.

This network was created for people who wish to participate in combatting human trafficking, an abhorrent form of modern-day slavery.
