MYO/Scrollworks exists to provide life-changing and life-shaping experiences for participants through the art of music.
Metropolitan Youth Orchestras and Scrollworks are unique in providing free music lessons to children ages 8 to 18 in Birmingham. These lessons and the youth ensembles are bringing the community together through music.
1. Opportunities in music should be made available regardless of the ability to pay.
2. Those opportunities need to be accessible in order for them to be realized.
3. Learning needs to be designed around the child's needs, wants and desires.
