ABOUT R BABY FOUNDATION

RBF is dedicated to ensuring that babies, including those in the first month of life suffering from viral infections and other infectious diseases, receive the highest quality of care and service through supporting life-saving pediatric training, education, research, treatment and equipment.

RBF was founded by Andrew and Phyllis Rabinowitz, who lost their baby girl Rebecca Ava to a misdiagnosed infection at only 9 days old, RBF has already raised close to $3 million. They partner with the best pediatric specialists at top Children's Hospitals to develop innovative, successful grant programs that not only benefit those hospitals but their regions and the country as a whole. Approximately 90% of all donations to RBF have gone directly these programs.

• There are approximately 20,000 newborn deaths within their first month of life and close to 30,000 in the first year. (Source: WebMD)

• Emergency departments are not well equipped to handle pediatric care. Most children (86%) receive emergency care in general (not children's) hospitals, which are less likely to have pediatric expertise, equipment, and policies in place for the care of children.
