Horse Slaughter for Human Consumption is hazardous work, cannot be done humanely, causes over breeding and abandonment, spreads diseases state to state, increases violent crime, decreases property values, causes mountains of potential pathogenic entrails and miles of odors. The alternatives are already in use on 90% of horses. Horse Slaughter is not needed and creates meat tainted with drugs unfit for human consumption. 80% of Americans and most of the 23 Tribes and Pueblos in New Mexico are opposed to horse slaughter. GOVERNOR MARTINEZ can LEAD the nation. She can use her executive powers to BAN horse slaughter in New Mexico.

It is very important to sign this petition as well as to call and email Governor Martinez. You have the most power acting locally!! After that, do call the US Congress and the president.
