We are writing you to implore you to quit employing circuses that use animals in their acts. There have been reports that state that every exhibitor of Shrine-leased animals has failed to meet minimal federal standards under the Animal Welfare Act for the care of animals used in the circus. [1] While there are some Shriners that are rethinking the use of animals in their circus fundraisers, it has not been something implemented to all Shrine Circuses.
As the Imperial Potentate, you are the highest ranked shriner and you have the power to stop the abuse against animals. I again urge you to abandon circuses involving animal acts! It would help not only the animals who are tortured by these circuses, but would help to enhance the reputation of the Shiners as not only people who care about children, but people who care about all life.

The Shrine Circus has had a long track record of employing circuses the use animal acts. These circuses are often cruel to the animals in their care. 

The USDA has cited Shrine Circus animal exhibitors in the past for failing to provide veterinary care; failing to provide adequate food, water, and shelter from the elements; and failing to handle animals in a manner that ensures their safety as well as public safety. Animals used in Shrine circuses have rampaged, causing human deaths and injuries.
The Shine Circuses provide many non-animal entertainment and we ask that they discontinue the use of animals in their acts. These animals and the people who attend these fundraisers deserve so much better!! Please sign the petition and let the Shriners know that you will not tolerate their use of animals for fundraising purposes anymore!!
