I'm trying hard to prove that getting older, doesn't always have to be the worst.

For the past few years, I've been raising money for the Summer Hope Foundation as my birthday wish to support our mission to provide hope for those touched by cancer. The Summer Hope Foundation only exists because of the support, generosity and sheer force of will of the "Summer Hope Family", bonded together in the fight against cancer.

Last year, I asked for $31 from 20 friends and ended up raising over $1,000. This year, I'm asking for $32 from 32 friends - with an even more special purpose.

Every year, Team Summer Hope participates in the Relay For Life of North Shore to support the American Cancer Society and the North Shore community's dedication to creating a world with less cancer and more birthdays. This year two high school seniors, Andrew Fierstein and Elizabeth Koslow, are chairing the event, their last before heading off to college.

Andrew, has battled cancer for most of his young life, and is an inspiration to all around him. Elizabeth is a committed, fierce caregiver, supporter and hero in her own right. They don't just make me like my job, they give my job purpose.

This year, I'd like to dedicate a portion of the money Summer Hope raises through my Birthday Wish to the Relay For Life of North Shore and, more importantly, in honor of Andrew's courageous battle against cancer and in honor of Elizabeth's dedication to fighting this disease for the loved ones its effected. I'm not just inspired by these two young adults, I've known since they were 11 (!!!), but proud of them and everything they've accomplished.

Please help me celebrate the last year of my early-30s in style!
