Your excellency Mr. Chen Yuming,
This petition has been disseminated world wide to educate of the grave injustices many animals face in China, and gain support for animal rights. Dogs, cats and various other animals, many of whom have families (as evidenced by their collars) are being abducted...

Vanity is surely a vice when it extends to the torture and death of millions of sentient animals. And for what? A status symbol - their fur.
In China, dogs, cats, rabbits - countless mammals and marsupials - are abducted and thrown into tiny cages.
They are kicked, beaten, thrown from heights - their bones breaking on impact; they are strangled, stepped on, stabbed and skinned alive. Their last minutes know nothing but unbearable agony, and fear.
Thereafter it is only a matter of time until they join their predecessors in anonymous, untimely death. Many of their hearts are still beating, the pain and blood loss draining their strength, their hope... Soon, sometimes after 10 minutes of hell, their bodies give up.
This is mankind at its most iniquitous, its most ruthless. Perpetrators of such crimes have no sympathy or humanity. If their greed knows no boundaries then I say we build some, because these people are not human; they are less human than the animals they slaughter, and they belong behind bars.
We implore the Chinese ambassador of Australia to take a stand and help shut down these barbaric fur farms, to criminalise animal cruelty and severely prosecute all involved.
It IS probably inevitable that the People's Republic of China will have to criminalise fur farms eventually, due to the increasing promulgation of such injustices and resulting outrage. But we are not willing to just 'wait and see'. We CARE about what is happening to these poor animals and wish to hasten the onset of animal rights laws by spreading the word and demanding change. This petition may not make a huge difference, but it will supplement the growing support for animal rights world-wide, and further cajole China into paying attention.
This petition will end on October 4th, World Animal Day.
Cruelty towards animals is a common early symptom of Antisocial Personality Disorder (DSM-IV; Glayzer et al., 2002), and Psychopathy (Hare's Checklist for Psychopathy - Revised), and can escalate to violence against humans. Such behaviour should never be ignored.
PLEASE NOTE: I understand this issue incites a lot of tempestuous emotions, as it should, but please no racism or any other prejudice on this page. Just because this is happening in China, and many of us find their animal welfare policies lacking (to say the least), it can't be inferred that 'all Chinese people' abuse or don't care for animals. Racism only pollutes and detracts from our message.

That's a pretty impressive achievement.
I appreciate how much you all care about this issue, but let's raise the bar higher: keep signing, sharing and hopefully we can make it to 6 digits - the more signatures, the more likely we're to make an impact!

I can't say enough about how barbaric this industry is & how sick & hopeless it makes me feel! The PPL involved in this deserve the worst life has to offer in the cruelest way possible..I wish them ALL HELL ON EARTH! I would PAY to see just ONE of them skinned alive & I would be surrounded by other Animal loving PPL who would do the same & rejoice for these Animals who can't defend themselves!

Yup I also wrote in the explanation that this isn't about race; it's about the industry, and how racism only makes us appear as ignorant extremists. There's evil going on in every part of the world but that doesn't mean all who incidentally live in those areas are evil! I'm gonna have to start deleting racist comments, me thinks.

I am an American, that has grown up around Chinese people for much of my life. NONE of them mistreated animals or hurt them. This problem is a select few (considering the population) of Chinese people that do this to animals. So lets be fair with our judgments towards our fellow mankind brothers and sisters. Remember many countries (including the US) in dog fighting, even though it is illegal to do. As they catch those that are cruel to animals, they need to prosecute them in every country that it happens in! Lets keep it positive, encouraging many to sign this petition for the good of animal rights.

I read an article in the paper about the treatment of dogs they plan to kill and eat... It's despicable, and totally stupid. It's believed that dog meat from a dog that has been TORTURED to death is an aphrodisiac, and that cat meat from cats that were beaten to death can cure rheumatism! Ridiculous excuses for sadism and profiting off gullibility/thoughtlessness.
This is in parts of Asia, particularly, China, that this is happening.

No more fur wearing, a true torture for animals, they are skinned alive!
So, we should go one step further...if we don't know the origin, we should NOT buy it, period. I, for one will not buy ANYTHING anymore that is made in China. I'll do without first. I am appalled and sickened and heartbroken by what is going on in China and Korea, among other places. But if signing petitions helps, I'll sign them every day of my life. Please keep the awareness out there. Tell anyone who will listen.....and maybe one day, we will see the suffering curbed. God, I hope so............
Yes and another huge concern, to which you alluded, is the amount of labels that use cheap sources of labour! The children in some Asian countries, the fact that they have to work the needles until their hands are scarred and arthritic for an equivalent 3c an hour... It's devastating. I remember doing a fashion business class where we cranked the no.s for Aus made v made in China and the prices for the latter were ridiculously low. And then designer labels emblazon their clothes with 'made in Italy', paying Italians for a few finishing touches while in actuality underpaid factory workers in Asia have done most of the work...
It's so hard to know where your products are coming from and it's not feasible to spend hours researching (often without closure) brands before buying. I just recommend that once people do find out a brand they like manufactures their product through unethical means, they stop buying it.

The penalty for skinning these adorable animals should be the same for the people doing this. Let's skin them! Don't they know we need these animals in the "Eco System"? The MOST IMPORTANT THINK WE ALL CAN DO- NEVER, NEVER BUY ANYTHING WHICH IS REAL FUR!!! IF WE DON'T BUY IT, THERE WILL NOT BE A MARKET FOR THESE HELPLESS ANIMALS.
Anytime I see real fur, not faux fur, I want to spray paint it, right on the person who is wearing it!
