    We the undersigned demand that the local Authorities do everything that they can to properly investigate the killing of Norton. We demand that the Sheriff involved is held accountable for the KILLING of an innocent family pet named NORTON. We also demand that the sheriff's department has a better trained person to respond to animal calls. We demand that the sheriff's department reviews this for possible policy changes that can be made in light of this incident. Furthermore, We demand that any audio or video of the shooting, if any, is reviewed and is available for public viewing if requested.


    Norton was shot and killed in his own yard on February 28th 2013.
    Norton suffered -6 shots to the head! Witnesses say the Norton showed no aggression and the shooting was unnecessary!

    Our beautiful and sweet Norton!

    Norton was a friendly, fun, loving Pit-bull unjustly shot 6 times in the head on his own property by the Lake County, Illinois Sheriff's department. Norton and his housemate Bailey got out of their fence today and were found on their own property. At which time a Lake County Illinois Sheriff's Department officer cornered him in and shot him 6 times in the head on his own property before Animal Control arrived. The officer said he showed signs of aggression, witnesses disagree. Animal Control rushed him to a hospital in an attempt to save his life. They had threatened to shoot him before while he was in his fence, it seems as though they found their opportunity. Please help us receive justice for Norty!

    *Update* After several hours detained for "paperwork" Bailey was reunited with her family.
