Stewart Regan and Neil Doncaster positions in Scottish Football are no longer tenable. They must be held to account for the complete failure in doing their jobs and not upholding the rules of the scottish game by clearly making them up as they go along seeking to destroy both the national and domestic game and not standing up for 1 of their member clubs that being Rangers FC.

Regan and Doncaster must go and go now along with all in the discredited SFA board in the name of sporting integrity.

The Scottish Premier League has made a claim against Rangers for £500,000 in legal costs following its inquiry into undeclared player payments.

However the SPL would not say whether the costs are being pursued against Rangers' oldco, the newco or both parties.

The Scottish Premier League has made a claim against Rangers for £500,000 in legal costs following its inquiry into undeclared player payments.

However the SPL would not say whether the costs are being pursued against Rangers' oldco, the newco or both parties.

An SPL spokesman told STV: "There has been a routine application for costs given that the case was successfully pursued by the SPL."

The commission, chaired by Lord Nimmo Smith, was set up to investigate rule breaches by the club between 2000 and 2011 relating to their failure to disclose payments made to players for playing activities, as is required under SPL regulations.

The inquiry focused on payments made by RFC 2012 plc ("oldco"), which is now in liquidation. Rangers' assets, including Ibrox, Murray Park and its membership of the Scottish FA, were bought by Charles Green's new company ("newco"), which trades as The Rangers Football Club Limited.

The newco was represented during the case but, in the verdict, it was stated that "...there is no allegation that the current owner and operator of the club, The Rangers Football Club Limited (Newco), contravened the SPL Rules or could be held responsible for any breach by Oldco."

The newco agreed as part of a five-way agreement with the oldco, SPL, Scottish Football League and Scottish FA that it would pay all outstanding debt to clubs from transfers undertaken by the oldco. STV understands there was no provision in the agreement for any other football debt to be honoured by the newco.

Lord Nimmo Smith fined the oldco £250,000 when it delivered its verdict on February 28 but did not strip Rangers of five SPL titles because no sporting advantage was gained.

A claim against the oldco is unlikely to recoup any money for the SPL with the company in liquidation.

A Rangers spokeswoman said: "This matter has been dragged out long enough and we had thought Lord Nimmo Smith's verdict would have been an end to it. Attempting to stretch it out even further does nothing to help the image of a game torn by dissension and engulfed in turmoil.

"It is important to remember that Lord Nimmo Smith apportioned no blame against Rangers FC and thus no sanctions were imposed on this club. It is inconceivable, therefore, as well as ridiculous that the SPL should even think about pursuing this club for costs against what was widely regarded as an ill-conceived and unwise course of action by them in the first place."

As a season ticket holder at Dumbarton F C (in other words as someone with no direct interest) I have to ask why it was that Rangers were punished so harshly (at least in 5 different ways as far as I can make out) yet they have now been found not guilty by two major legal bodies. Fair enough Whyte was without doubt a 'bad yin' and he committed a number of offences of which the organisation he was head of, Rangers, had to pay the penalty, but the whole thing now stinks to high heaven even...

As a season ticket holder at Dumbarton F C (in other words as someone with no direct interest) I have to ask why it was that Rangers were punished so harshly (at least in 5 different ways as far as I can make out) yet they have now been found not guilty by two major legal bodies. Fair enough Whyte was without doubt a 'bad yin' and he committed a number of offences of which the organisation he was head of, Rangers, had to pay the penalty, but the whole thing now stinks to high heaven even more than it did before and it seemed to me that there were an awful lot of people desperately wanting to get on a 'hang Rangers' bandwagon. But the law usually states that you are presumed innocent until found guilty. And now rangers have been found not guilty. This maybe a naive question but what could the motivation of those in that bandwagon have been in the first place? It reminded me of the Spanish inquisition the way some people were going on.

John Cartwright most of the so called friends as you put it, informed their club to vote against rangers or they would boycott their own grounds, my understanding Kilmarnock was the only club that didnt vote rangers out of the spl and other teams didnt want or need rangers. Its very clear Regan & Doncaster tried to blackmail rangers to hand over the titles as the spl will loss £17 million and wanted rangers to be admitted to the 1st Div why because of the money rangers brings to the scottish game, i found your other point about scottish fans; i wasnt aware many celtic fans supported scotland and recently when Ian Black came on the so called fans booed Black, very bad image for the friendly scottish supporters. I will never support scotland until the following people removed from the sfa e.g. Regan & Doncaster. The scottish football and spl as a whole still in a sorry state and its about time we moved on

John Cartwright Well John, I have to say that 2 of the three clubs you mention in your first comment, actually said 3 weeks before any vote was taken against The Rangers, that they would be standing by Rangers and not voting them down out of the Premier League. On the day of the actual vote only one club did not vote to have rangers thrown out of the league, and that was Kilmarnock. So I hope this gives you a better understanding of how The Rangers feel against these clubs that you mention.
As for your other comment about Rangers not deserving to be playing in any scottish league, because they failed to produce the 3 years mandatory signed off accounts. Niether did Livingston, or Dundee Football Clubs, yet low and behold they were permitted to continue in there respective leagues. So I think that The Rangers fans have every right to be bitter. Incidentally I should mention that when the all seater stadia was brought in, St Johnstone were threatened with being put out of the league because there Stadium was not going to be ready in time for the new season. As I recall, celtic's stadium was not going to be ready either, what happened there!!!!! they were granted permission to use Hampden Park as there home ground, for as long as it took them to have there place ready. So I think if you and most other Rangers haters wake up and smell the Coffee, you will see the blatant Descrimination against Rangers........................

to move on we the need guilty to show remorse and contrition, our club was nearly out of the game lets start to to turn the rocks over and show the cockroaches the light of day, they are the one s who should be punished the sword of Damocles is waitin for them.

You are 100% the people who caused it should have been punished, not the team and there loyal supporters !!!!!

yet celtc supporters are never sectarian, using the H word means nothing to you. Yet we call you f*nians (which you call yourselves) and its the "aw but they big bad proddies call us a nasty word" sectarianism card! The ferry leaves from Cairnryan, it makes sense to use it, but you never do, always the half crown, never the crown, eh?

to coin a phrase from "O flower o' Scotland" And send them homewards tae think again.

WE ARE RANGERS SUPER RANGERS.....

By the same token then you lot have only been goin since "94".No european cup. By the way, Big Jock knew means nothing to you lot. That is a real crime. The majority of your team have been involved in tax avoidance schemes,Lenny lost thousands. But you lot can only talk about other peoples troubles. You support a terrorist organisation and a church run by Paedo,s. no wonder so many of you are caught doing "Inappropriate behaviour". You should be ashamed, but dont have the decency to recognise this. Oh,and Oirland is fairly easy to get to,why dont you go home instead ofn living here playing the plastic paddy.

those gaining an unfair advantage are those clubs operating with massive debt against those living within their means.Dundee entered administration twice and paid back pennies in the pound, same with motherwell and rangers.Clubs like killie, hearts etc have debt that they will never repay yet are being allowed to rack up more(kris boyd) in a bid to stay in the promised land that is the spl - again at the expense of clubs running themselves properly. This should be the priority of the...

Remember not all clubs sold their ground and had a new one built at the council tax payers expense.
