STOP HOMOPHOBIA IN SOUTH AFRICA

Dear Sir/ madam

Re: Promotion of Homophobia and hatred against homosexual citizens.

I wish to express my disgust and concern about the the fact that Pastor Peter Hougardt of Calvary H.O.P.E  Ministries in Mitchells Plain yet again promoted homophobia and hate speech  on his facebook page (as per http://www.mambaonline.com/article.asp?artid=7913 ). His recent comment that "Oscar Pistorius was cursed "for openly supporting homosexuals"  is absolutely shocking and extremely offensive.

His statement "I believe that Oscar Pistorius is cursed for openly supporting Homosexuals. According to the Holy Word of God, homosexuality is an abomination to God, and any person who supports homosexuals are doomed for hell," is a transgression of the laws of SA. It is not only defamatory, but it is also hate speech."

Based on the following, I urge you to please act immediately:

Section 10 of the Promotion of Equality and Prevention of Unfair Discrimination Act (PEPUDA) prohibits any person from publishing or communicating "words based on one or more of the prohibited grounds (including race), against any person, that could reasonably be construed to demonstrate a clear intention to (a) be hurtful; (b) be harmful or to incite harm; or (c) promote or propagate hatred."

This freedom is qualified in section 16(2) of the Constitution which states that freedom of expression "does not extend to propaganda for war; incitement of imminent violence; or advocacy of hatred that is based on race, ethnicity, gender or religion, and that constitutes incitement to cause harm".

Yours sincerely

People ARE what they are! They didn't choose to be born gay, or straight, as I didn't choose to be born with blue eyes and blond hair.. and for all those so-called-religious people out there... remember this.... there but for the grace of GOD.. go I.. Thank God I live in a country that accepts people as they are..

Whatever our view is on matters of any matter, we are not entitled to throw stones. Not even Jesus did so. I am strongly opposed to discrimination of any nature.

Niemand mag menseregte skend nie, allermins, geloofsoortuiginge, politieke of sesksuele orientering.

I LOVE these Queer Pages,,, they are funny. Nothing but propaganda from the GAY KKK. When SSM people stop slapping God in the face then the Christians might leave you all alone.
