Wolves have been the victim of legends and lies throughout centuries and have paid the ultimate price for man's ignorance and superstition. All of this persecution has made the wolf an easy and handy target for trophy hunters, trappers, and ranchers to massacre wolves.
Making the wolf an internationally celebrated animal, by giving him his own day, would allow people to realize the true nature of the wolf and his value to the ecosystem. An International Wolf Day would allow children to value the roll predators play in our world, and to appreciate the true nature of wolves---a spirit which is free, independence, intelligence, cooperation, and complete loyalty to family.

Update #2
Posted by Linda Camac (Campaign Leader) on Mar 10Two days ago South Dakota declared wolves to be taken off the protected species list and reclassified as VARMINTS! ------ IF THE WOLF HAS HIS OWN DAY, AND HONORED AROUND THE WORLD --- they will look like fools calling him a 'varmint'; as will all the wolf-killing states!

Update #1
Posted by Heidi Ulrich (Campaign Leader) on Feb 25We couldn't persuade the United States to adopt the wolf as a national symbol, but perhaps we can make the world honor him with a INTERNATIONAL WOLF DAY!
