Sig Sauer is a big name manufacturer of high quality firearms and a big name supplier to our military and several government and law enforcement agencies.
With enough signatures, of which there is no specific number we have to reach, I will present our cause to representatives of Sig Sauer Inc, and with any luck they will join the many other manufacturers in supporting our rights to legally own modern weapons like the AR-15 and other semiautomatic tactical-style firearms. With any luck, we can undo the ridiculous legislation that several states have enacted, and several more intent on introducing - possibly even reversing the course our nation is headed.

Update #1
Posted by Andy Davis (Campaign Leader) on Feb 26Update #1 26-Feb-2013
At the time of this writing, we are now four signatures away from our goal of 2500 signatures! At the advice of others, I wanted to post a list of other manufacturers who have chosen to stand for citizens' rights. This list was borrowed from 2ACheck.com at http://www.2acheck.com/gun-companies-boycott-the-government/
Below are the names of companies who have decided to refuse to supply arms to governments that violate the Second Amendment. This is exactly the kind of...

I've owned several Sigs throughout the years, starting some fifteen years ago with the purchase of a P229 in 357SIG. Not long after I purchased the 40S&W barrel, and had a nice little dual-caliber handgun! I upgraded the guide rod and spring with a Sprinco recoil reducing guide rod system, and it turned that handgun into a sweet shooter! Several years later, I purchased a P226 in 9mm. Great little pistol! And it even fits the holster I had for my P229! Years later, I was forced to sell all...

Years later, I was forced to sell all of my handguns over a short period of time in order to make rent, etc. Hard times. I was young... I swore never again would I sell my guns for reasons like that. Many years passed and I didn't own a single handgun, until last year when I really wanted another Sig handgun. I saw a P229 SAS Gen2 in 9mm - the exact model I had wanted for a long time! I bought it, and it's been great! Accurate, reliable, and fits my hands just perfectly. It looks great in the handmade black leather holster I had made for my first P229 some fifteen years prior! Very sentimental, and reminds me to never sell my guns again. Just recently I made yet another Sig Sauer purchase, this time a rifle. A SIG716 in 7.62x51. Such an awesome, accurate, amazingly well-made rifle. Now the government is telling me that I shouldn't be able to own my rifle. I'm going to do everything I can to stop this legislation dead in its tracks, and I can only hope that I can get support from the firearm manufacturer I have long considered my favorite, Sig Sauer, in helping us to defend our rights and our liberties, from this ridiculous legislation.
Andy I just Bought a P229 yesterday after several weeks of looking. Thank you for your input making me feel more comfort in my purchase of this particular hand gun :-)
I really like mine; it fits my hands perfectly. The SAS Gen2 treatment is great. Like I wrote above, this is my 2nd P229. I'm sure you'll love yours too! What cal did you get? Also today I got to take the SIG716 out to the range. My, what a SWEET SHOOTER! No more kick than an AR-15, everyone that shot it agreed and was impressed. I may have inadvertently sold two additional SIG716's in the near future by letting friends shoot it!!
Hopefully Sig will stand up with us, however don't be too disappointed if they don't or are ignored, as they are not a US based corporation.
You're right, Sig is a German company, but Sig Sauer Inc. is based in the USA and determines their US distribution. My P229 is all US-made, so I know some Sig pistols are made entirely here in the states. You may be right, Sig Sauer may disagree with us, or ignore us entirely. I think it is worth the effort to gather some signatures and present our request. I'll do my best to put forth a convincing argument :)
How do I resign from ppl asking me to sign attrition? I get 4 a day!!
