Now is the time to take action to make an impact on this year's kitten season. If you have a female cat that needs to be spayed, this is the best time of year to get that problem FIXED. Spay Day is next Tuesday, February 26, and many low cost spay-and-neuter clinics across the country will be celebrating with specials that are even more affordable than their typical low cost options.
Don't have a female cat that needs fixed? Well, there are still so many ways that you can make an impact on kitten season.
1. Volunteer on GetYourFix.org- Help someone in need with an unaltered female cat find a surgery sponsor or a low or no cost spay option in their local area. You can reach out to people in your community or anywhere across the country. Fits any schedule! Visit www.GetYourFix.org/Volunteer for more details.
2. Become a foster - Local shelters get swamped with mama cats and their litters and stray kittens. They can't adopt them to new homes until the kittens are ready to feed themselves or meet specific age requirements, while shelter space is at a premium. Open your home to these fuzzy felines.
3. Make a donation - Get cats spayed by supporting this cause (FiXiT, a 501(c)(3) non-profit) or your local non-profit spay-and-neuter clinic with a contribution. Even small donations make a big difference. Or make a bigger impact by hosting an easy fundraiser -- bake sales really do work!
Together we make a big impact on kitten season this year! Take the pledge!

Posted by Kellie Heckman (Campaign Leader) on Feb 28Thank you for taking our pledge to Take Action for Kittens! It is amazing to know there are so many of you that want to reduce the impact of this year's kitten season. We have great news to report! Thanks to a generous GetYourFix Sponsor, Lunar will be spayed. After contributing three unwanted litters, she will no longer be able to give birth to any more homeless kittens.
This is just the start. On this last day of February - the month of World Spay Day, there is still time for you to...

All my animals are fixed. I tell everyone to alter their pets. I adopt street cats.
You rock! I love it when people are part of the solution!
Thanks. I have 2 motherless kittens for adoption in about 4 weeks. I just have to get them weened. They are brown- grey tiger stripped. One male, one female. Adopters must spay and neuter. Kitty will live in the house, not in the hot/cold garden.

When will pet owners show some decency and act responsibly any spay/neuter their cats to stop this ongoing carnage of innocent kittens being killed! A government initiative is desperate to enforce mandatory spay/neuter of animals or be fined heavily. It doesn't matter what humans think about mandatory desexing etc, its about the innocent lives that are lost, and think about the suffering of the people who have to take these lives. In my opinion this is nothing about freedom , its about...

In my opinion this is nothing about freedom , its about governments taking responsibility to protect the animals in these community and they must do what is right for the animals. Please show some leadership here, when humans can't act responsible then their freedom to choose must be ignored for the rights and welfare of the animals!
