In early 2000, my friend Yvelline Pelletier traveled to the region of Guyana, South America.  Upon her return to California, she told me of the situation for the stray dogs in that area of the world, how they are continually hit by buses, and how much they needed help. Since that time I have wanted to help in some way, and now, thanks to the wonderful donations by Animal Spay Neuter International supporters, we are able to.  In 2012, I received a phone call from Karin King, asking if our team could possibly travel to Suriname (formerly Dutch Guyana) to help the strays.  She told me she had contacted organizations from all over asking for help, to no avail. Well, many of us, including myself, have been in that same position of pleading for help with no response or hope in sight. ( This very thing happened to me when starting to help in Romania, which is why we began our own charity for Romanian animals.)  Karin's plea touched me and  our vet team from Romania (and UK vet tech Ruth).  It's been months in the planning stages, and thanks to free airline tickets from Suriname Airways and free accommodations provided in Suriname, the Romanian and British "Dream Team" are on there way to provide 500 free spays/neuters in Suriname, departing on February 20.  Thank you for being there for all the animals, for making this a better world, and for understanding that we all need to be there for each other to reach the goal of no more suffering.  Bon Voyage my dearest friends!  I wish you safe travels as do all our friends!
