Save The Clone Wars from Cancellation!

Hey guys its been awhile. Sorry I have not been posting because I had some personal issues and needed to get on my feet. Anyway I just got a letter from Kathleen Kennedy from Lucasfilm basically telling me that the focus is on the new films and Dave Filloni is busy working on a new animated series. I still would like to keep this petition up in order to get as much bonus material as possible from season 6 and beyond. I am having sort of a change of attitude and maybe this isn't the worst thing that has happened. Being that Dave is working on the new series means that they are very concerned with keeping the fans happy. they could have cut everybody. I am glad to see that dave is involved which means he is likely to be involved in the whole creative process of the future of Star wars which is a plus.

#SaveTheCloneWars Several people have been asking about organizing another #SaveTheCloneWars twitter protest. The first one organized by Star Wars Underworld had a good turn out on Saturday at 12:30 pm EST (9:30 am PST). A few days ago, we had a good response on Facebook to the suggestion of a weekly protest on Saturdays at the same time, 12:30 pm EST/9:30 am PST. So, we are moving forward with this plan and ask you to spread the word! The #SaveTheCloneWars twitter protest is aimed at getting the attention of Disney and LucasFilm, and if possible to get #SaveTheCloneWars to trend on twitter.  Hopefully, the protest will also raise awareness of other Star Wars that may be unaware of the cancellation of The Clone Wars or perhaps unmotivated to raise their voices about the series that millions of fans have watched for the past five seasons. Kyle Newman Need some extra motivation to get involved withe campaign.  There is a great interview with Kyle Newman, director of Fan Boys, on the latest Out of the Blue podcast, at GeekNation.com.  Newman had some very passionate words to Star War fans and how they need to express to Disney how they feel about the show they loved getting cancelled. "Star Wars fans are drunk at the wheel.... They're not even paying attention to the fact that Disney just said 'George Lucas' Star Wars for the last 10 years, we just axed it for fun.'  Wake up, and go write a letter and go tweet them @Disney and tell them!  You're probably not gonna get the show back, you may, but they're not gonna put the show back on the air. They can give it an ending...  ...You need to tell Disney that they're not just gonna have their way with something that you've kept alive for 35 years! That's the symbolic thing. That's all I'm saying so if you're out there listening, wake up!  Stop worrying about your color forms and worry about that they just took George Lucas' story off the air.  Wake up and go write a letter!"

Well people we are closing in on 2000 signatures and that is great news. Our friends at Save The Clone Wars Facebook page are doing a great job of spreading the word make sure you like and follow them at http://www.facebook.com/SaveCloneWars?ref=ts&fref=ts. They have updates to what we are going to do in the future, such as a campaign to send items. These types of campaigns work if you get your friends and family on board and hit them on multiple fronts. Kim Possible and Family Guy were saved with simular campaigns.

They also created a Save The Clone Wars webpage at www.SaveTheCloneWars.com check it out and add to your favorites.

This is a great cause to keep top of the line family programing on TV while adding exceptional story to the overall Star Wars Saga. 

Things have slowed down on this petition because a good amount of TCW fans have decided that these rumors are fake and the push to write and petition was a waste of time. They believe that it was inevitable and the speculation that TCW would end up on Disney XD was the official word. Well more news is coming out and it doesn't look good for TCW and its chances that it will remain on the air. The rumor is that the official word about the future or lack there off will be out this week. Most sources are say more to the side of lack. Now over 1000 fans have signed this petition and I am hoping we can post this link to our pages and get these numbers up. It is our intention from the beginning to be a positive platform to Disney and Lucasfilm how important TCW is to the Star Wars canon. I still believe that the best thing to do is to send a letter to Bob Iger and Kathleen Kennedy how ever it takes little to no effort to sign a petition also. The more avenues of attack the better are chances to #SaveTheCloneWars is.

Although not yet officially confirmed, we're hearing from several sources tonight that The Clone Wars as a TV show\series has ended.  It's not yet clear what will happen to the unaired finished episodes, those partway through production or if they will try and tie the show up with a direct to DVD\Blu-ray movie (something that Disney are known to have done with some of their other properties).

Just yesterday I sent out my letters to Bob Iger and Kathleen Kennedy via the US mail service. Although I believe we must write letter, I think a multi platform attack is the best way possible. I have also been hitting up twitter and facebook. I want to thank all the podcasts for helping pass the word about the petition. You can help out on twitter with the hash-tag #SaveTheCloneWars. We are starting to pick up a little momentum and it would be great if you took out a couple of minutes to get some of your family members to sign this petition. 

I am glad to see that we are over 1000, however nothing official is out from either Lucasfilm or Disney in any capacity weather or not that TCW will remain on the air for season 6 & beyond. Please get your friends and family together and sign the petition and get that letter out to Bob Iger at Disney and Kathleen Kennedy at Lucasfilm and let them know that TCW are essential to the Star Wars Saga as are the film. Let them know you appreciate new films but don't allow them to overlook the importance to what George and Dave Filoni have added to the overall canon. TCW is in danger of probably sitting on a shelf like many other TV shows. It is up to us to ensure its not treated like other TV shows. TCW is bigger then the TV business alone, and you are the defender of its future which still has lots of loose ends to tie up. Make this week be the week where we show Dave Filoni and his crew that TCW is special and we truly appreciate their hard work buy trippling this petition and getting those letters out.

I have been reading some positive information coming from the crew and cast at TCW regarding the future of the show. The explain that their is TCW season 6 in the can but give us no indication on where and when we will be able to watch them. As the creator of this petition I implore you to continue the fight and continue the e-mail campaign along with the letter writing. I also ask that you push to get at least 2 of your friends to sign the petition today. We are just about to break 1000 people signed. Help us make this petition explode. It is in our purpose to get TCW to be on television for season 6 at least by September of 2013 just as it would have been on Cartoon Network. Dave Filioni and his crew and cast deserve that for bring us such great stories and animation. I personally sent Bob Iger an E-Mail with a link to the cause page so he should now be personally aware of our effort. Let make this look good.

Bad or good news for 1313. It has been speculated that since Disney bought LFL that 1313 would never see day light. According to some reports coming out yesterday that was in fact the situation, however their has been a couple of articles out that explain that this could be to tie 1313 with the release of one of the spin off movies. Speculation: I believe that the news of a Boba Fett, Jabba the Hutt and Han Solo movie, may all be the same movie, called Underworld which could tie in with 1313 and the possible Live Action Series. They may be pushing the 1313 game back, to do a better tie in with the other projects on the table. I have some links that sugar coat the bad news a little.So maybe all this news isn't so bad or maybe it is.

In the meantime, there's something else I'd like to mention while I have your attention. At the Q and A afterward, Pablo Hidalgo mentioned that there has been no official announcement about if and when the sixth season (or future seasons) will be airing or available for our consumption. I did ask questions about the future of the show, but was greeted with many no comments. One person close to Lucasfilm did tell me, though, that now is the time to raise a ruckus about the future of the show. I'd been waiting until the Disney schedule announcement in March to start causing a stink, but I think that might be too late.

Support for this petition has really died down. 675 signed while over 5000 people viewed the cause page. I need you help and support to post these on your facebook and tweet them out to your friends. I also keep getting messages that Disney XD is going to carry the show. As much as I would love to believe that I can't find nothing to support that statement officially by either Disney XD or Lucasfilm. So we are going to leave this petition up and running until something official comes out. Please feel free to post a link.

There is some negativity to the posting of this cause and I want to clear up some of the confusion. I know that they have already invested time and work on TCW well into season 8 and I know that Dave Filoni and his crew are busting their butts to make this show great. We have to remember that there has been a change in management there at Lucasfilm and that means their is a change of focus and direction and this has been already happening with the recent news that the 3D releases are being pushed to the side to focus on the new trilogy and the spin off films. I personally don't have a big problem with that, however that focus could bleed into other Star Wars projects that we know and love. Season 6 and beyond have been worked on and that is correct, However according to inside sources the new management team has shifted all focus of the company to the new films which could mean pushing projects such as Clone Wars, Detours,1313, and the live action series to the side. It is in our intention to show the new management team that we hold TCW to a George Lucas level of canon that is imperative to the rest of the Saga.
