They say a picture is worth a thousand words -- well, our 'words' have been ignored, as we have protested the wolf massacre with letters, phone calls, and petitions for the last 18 months.  It is time to give Washington a wake-up call and 'put it in their face' with a graphic photo of a tortured wolf -- the kind of photo that we view everyday, the kind of photo that brutalizes our sensibilities.

We can choose from the photos attached here, or you may have your own -- accompany your photo with a short paragraph or a letter; frame the photo with cardboard or a cheap wood frame, or send it unframed, if you prefer; you can also send a screen shot of a POST from a trophy hunter or trapper who is expressing their disdain for wolves and over-the-top hatred of wolves.

The note should have the talking point that 'the states have proven that they are not worthy of wolf management with their inordinate disdain and hatred of the wolf, expressed in gut shooting, brutalizing a trapped wolf, prolonging the pain and terror before the 'kill shot', boasting of how long and hard a wolf has suffered at their hands, poisoning wolves with Xylitol, and expressing that the only good wolf is a dead wolf --- and having a goal of extermination and not management.'

Three photos should be printed out -- 2 for each U.S. Senator of your state and 1 for President Obama.  This has to go snail mail - email won't be as effective as having an 8'x10' glossy in their hands!

President Barack Obama, The White House, 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, Washington, D.C.  20500

To find your 2 U.S. Representatives click on this link, and put in your zip code and their contact information will come up--http://www.house.gov/representatives/find/

Of course, be polite but determined, express that you appalled and that the management of wolves must be taken away from the states, and the wolves must be placed under federal protection---even creating a new 'class of protection' for them, due to extreme prejudice and persecution of the iconic American animals.

Even if you only send the paragraph above to accompany your photo, that will be enough.

It is your right to express your outrage at your government's decision to expose these poor animals to the inhumane and brutal carnage they are suffering.  All elected officials work for the citizens----all of the citizens, not just the ranchers, hunters and trappers!

Many howls!!

Goal met!  Thank you for pledging to give the President and your senators the photographic evidence of the unthinkable brutality that wolves live and die with every day!  Please follow through in getting those photos off and that powerful paragraph to accompany them.  Many Howls!  :)

This pledge is directed toward the 2 U.S. State Senators of the state YOU reside in, and 1 photo to the President. We are directing this campaign to the federal government as the states are making money off killing wolves, they are happy with their policies, and will ignore us again, as they have in the past! Boycott the wolf killing states --- all of their products, services, and tourism -- and turn your energy toward our federal government-- with the emphasis on 'our'!

Your absolutely right Janez! Americans are some of the most evil, cold hearted people who only care about themselves in the world! It makes me ashamed to even call myself American!

the poor creatures. it's despicable that hunting for sport is legal anywhere... It's killing for the sake of killing and it's barbaric, not to mention sadistic. They're seen by so many ignorants as predators, but we're the predators here. The few that would harm us would only do so out of defence and desperation. What's our excuse?
please also sign this if you're interested in helping us to save countless dogs, cats and other animals who are being skinned alive for their fur in china: https://www.causes.com/actions/1736270-petition-stop-the-torture-slaughter-of-animals-for-fashion

We hunt for meat to feed our families, we don't hunt for the SPORT of killing dogs or ANY other animal. To arbitrarily just kill a living breathing animal without justification is wrong on Every Level. Stop the slaughter Now.

Although I don't have tremendous sympathy for hunters (the reason being, that, here in France, I am mostly confronted to trigger-happy-freezer-filling drungoes...), you sound like a decent bloke, Bernie. Thanks for this courageous stand!

Bernie Ewell

Thank you for your response, however, killing for the sake of killing is sick. It appears from a mind of control and hatred. God will repay those who kill just for that thrill.

Sent a letter to my Congessman. Thanks for raising this and connecting it to a follow up with our representative.

My day was happy till I saw this picture of a slaughted wolf, I owned a wolf called Yogi for 16yrs and he was my best mate, why do these hunters think its ok to kill these beautifull animals, if only I could hunt the hunters and slaughter them......

Sadly it's not just one. There are many. However there are so many MORE of us, IF we would only take the few moments necessary to write to the governors of each wold slaughtering state (Wisconsin, Montana, Idaho & Alaska as main culprits!), we could stop this! Problem is, most people turn away in horror (denial!) or say "shame shame" but they never do more! They need to stop sitting on their hands...at least long enough to REALLY make their voices heard! May God strengthen them all to ACT UP!

Stan Hamminga

Maybe we should use the same weapons as they do, to save the animals. Would satisfy me. At least they have the same chance to survive what the Wolves don't have. The only problem is if you get caught. Unfortunately there is no god, if it was this problem was solved already. About signing petitions, i ve never signed as many as the last time, i hope it will be effective. Most people don't care. A lot of meateaters for instance. For the most even signing a petition is too much. So I m very pessimistic for all Aninmal.

Is there information about where the photos came from/first appeared so that they can be properly `credited' and posted elsewhere too?
