#SoniaGandhi @PMOIndia: Sack #Kurien! Don't Trash #India's #Rape Law!

To: Sonia Gandhi, President of the Congress Party

Dear Mrs Sonia Gandhi,

Dear Mrs Sonia Gandhi,

We are shocked that you are allowing  Kurien, a politician in your party, who was identified by a teenage gang rape victim (in the Suryanelli case) as one of 42 men who raped her, to chair the Parliamentary discussions on India's new anti-rape law!

It is a mockery of the women of India! How can you do this? You are a woman! You are the most powerful politician in India!  And as is universally known, you are the 6th most powerful woman in the world!! Even more powerful than Michelle Obama! So why would you be using your position and power to trash India's anti-rape law?

Many of us are now questioning that you are deliberately trashing India's anti-rape law TO PROTECT YOUR OWN PERSONAL interest.  In 1984 under the direction of your husband, Rajiv Gandhi, the then Prime Minister, politicians in your party, unleashed a wave of crime on the Sikh community in Delhi.  Women were raped, and hundreds were killed. Not a single case has got justice yetSikhs for Justice recently pointed out  your words about feeling for India's women in the aftermath of the Delhi gang rape in Dec 2012 are plain rhetoric. You have politically repressed and conveniently forgotten the "vicious cycle of rape and murder let loose against Sikh women in 1984 at the behest of [your] husband."

Isn't this why your party refused Justice Verma's recommendations on the new rape law including the recommendation that all politicians charged with rape be removed and tried?

SONIA GANDHI: IF YOU USE YOUR POWER AND POSITION TO PROTECT RAPISTS, AND TO TRASH INDIA'S SYSTEM OF JUSTICE FOR WOMEN, WE NOT FORGET, AND WE WILL NOT FORGIVE! WE WILL MARK YOU AS AN ENEMY OF THE WOMEN OF INDIA!!

We demand that Kurien and all other politicians charged with rape serving any office in India be sacked immediately, and put on trial.  India is watching you and so is the world!

How can a politician accused in a gang-rape case, chair the hearings for India's new anti-rape law?   And this is being allowed by Sonia Gandhi, the most powerful politician in India?  Why would she allow it? Does she have a personal reason?

It is very important Sonian Gandhi and the government of India hear from the people of India and from around the world before Feb 19.   The government is undecided and watching public response closely.  So EVERY VOICE COUNTS! THIS IS URGENT! We need to act FAST to get  Sonia Gandhi to sack Kurien immediately!

Dear Friends, Thank you for supporting our petition for the young woman who was gang raped at Suryanelli, and who is still fighting for justice.  One of the main accused in the case was a powerful politician P.J. Kurien who the government has so far
