How can a politician accused in a gang-rape case, chair the hearings for India's new anti-rape law? And this is being allowed by Sonia Gandhi, the most powerful politician in India? Why would she allow it? Does she have a personal reason?
It is very important Sonian Gandhi and the government of India hear from the people of India and from around the world before Feb 19. The government is undecided and watching public response closely. As an artist from Sweden I have been running an embroidery project in a Bheel village in Rajasthan, for 7 years. It's sad to understand that one of the consequences for women and girls in the village will be that they are still more "protected" and guarded and kept inside the village.It´s very contradictionary to the empowerment for them that we are trying to implement.
