Jamaat-e-Islami Bangladesh is the so called notorious radical, fundamentalist, pro-rightist political party in Bangladesh which has its mother organization based in Lahore, Pakistan. Jamaat-e- Islami is famous for its notorious activities during the war of Independence of Bangladesh in 1971. Under the direct supervision of Pakistani intelligence and defence authorities, Jamaat-e- Islami organized a systematic cleansing of intellectuals, students and pro-independence activist during the war time.

Its allied forces, such as Shanti Bahini, Al Badar, Al Shams organized a systematic reign of terror all over Bangladesh (then East Pakistan) to save the unity of Pakistan. Pakistani Army intentionally provided them arms and training in order to restore the status-quo of East Pakistan. During this war period Jamaat activists killed thousands of pro-liberation activists, raped hundreds of women and forcefully converted a huge numbers of hindus into Islam.

For their shameful work during war time, people renamed them as Razakar, which means collaborators in english. Their chief leaders, e.g. Golam Azam, Abbas Uddin Khan, Matiur Rahman Nizami, Delwar Hossain Sayidee, Mujahidul Islam, Kader Mullah and many more have been accused for serious war crime activity. After the independence their political activity was banned by the victorious Mukti Bahini and later on Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the founding father of Bangladesh, cancelled the citizenships of chief Jamaati collaborators. However, those evils came back to the political scenario of Bangladesh after their short disappearance from 1971 to 1977. Some of the prominent war criminals became the key players in Bangladeshi politics. Two of their leaders who were directly involved in mass killing became the ministers in Bangladesh, which has never happened before in any other countries in the world. Till now Jamaat-e-Islami is declining their infamous role at war time. They claim themselves moderate muslims, but their propaganda and hidden activities suggest a neo-nazi elements in their politics. Till now they are maintaining their tie with Jamaat-e-Islami of Pakistan and receiving external funds from Pakistani ISI and middle-eastern countries.

The Shahbag movement has brought a new hope to the emerging young Bangladeshis to boycott and ban Jamaat-e-Islami from all walks of life in Bangladesh. If you do care about your future, then boycott them and raise your voice to ban Jamaat-e-Islami in Bangladesh.
