Dear Secretary-General of the United Nations

Women In Egypt face the increased danger of sexual assault by large gangs of men .Due to a lack of legal protections and restrictions on social services, female victims of violence generally have NO options for assistance.

Egypt's ruling party is paying gangs of thugs to sexually assault women to prevent them from going out for work or study .

The Campaigners in Egypt say the problem of sexual harassment is reaching epidemic proportions, with a rise in such incidents over the past three months. For many Egyptian women, sexual harassment - which sometimes turns into violent mob-style attacks - is a daily fact of life .

Some Egyptian women have begun carrying kitchen knives at protest marches in Cairo against sexual harassment and rape, which has been an epidemic since the Arab Spring. Ultraconservative Islamists have declared that women invite attacks because they mix with men at anti-government protests. One hard-line cleric, Mohammed Abdullah, said women at protests "were going there to get raped."

Women in Egypt cannot report to the Police because the police stations aren't  safe for women , there are a lot of reports have mentioned that women got molested there by the official employees.

Lastly, I urge you to publicly offer your support for women in Egypt and take action against Egyption Authorities for allowing crimes against women .

I hope the Secretary General will stand firm against the violence against women and not allow to violate women rights in Egypt as well as in the world .

I suggest to set a new law that can protect women and create a female police force for violent crimes and sexual harassment against women

I also suggest to implant cameras in public places and inside police stations ,

I finally recommend that women must be allowed to carry a weapon for protection.

Sincerely ,

Egypt's ruling party is paying gangs of thugs to sexually assault women to prevent them from going out for work or study .

the Muslim Brotherhood is paying gangs to beat up men who are taking part in the latest round of protests, which followed a decree by President Morsi to give himself sweeping new powers.

under Mubarak, the Government paid thugs to beat male protestors and sexually assault women.

'This is still happening now,I believe thugs are being paid money to do this .

The Muslim Brotherhood have the same political approaches as Mubarak.

One protestor, told the newspaper how she had been in the square filming the demonstrations for a few hours when the crowd suddenly turned.

Before she knew what was happening, about 50 men had surrounded her and began grabbing her breasts. She said they ripped off her clothes, starting with her headscarf and for nearly an hour, indecently assaulted her with their hands.

A few men tried to help her but they were beaten away. Eventually some residents who had seen the attack from their windows came to her aid and an elderly couple pulled her into their home. She suffered internal injuries and was unable to walk for a week.

Four of Yasmine's friends were also sexually assaulted in the square that day, in the summer.

Afaf el-Sayed, a journalist and activist, told the newspaper she was assaulted by a group of men while protesting in Tahrir Square just over a month ago and she was sure her attackers were 'thugs from the Muslim Brotherhood'.

In February 2011 the correspondent for the American network CBS, Lara Logan, endured a half-hour sexual assault in Tahrir Square by a group of men. She said after the ordeal that she had been 'raped with their hands'.

While the exact frequency of these attacks is unknown, activists have reported nearly 20 attacks in the last ten days and say there has been a dramatic increase in mob sex attacks on protestors in the last year.

all we want is to ban this heinous behavior and protect women from such a humiliation and violation , it's a serious Crime that requires serious response.

Ina'am Tahhan

Thank you Janine, please mention that syrian people also been trapped under their attack and under the assad attack , those gang are killing syrian people and destroying the flag to use their black flag, I have video and I want to share it with all

I live in Egypt and I think this cause is exaggerated... the pictures and videos that are associated are not adding value, but diverting attention to the Army and the Police.
I will support your cause and share it within my sphere of influence if you have any reliable statistics... otherwise I suppose I will be sharing in the spread of rumors.

Ebrahim Mohammed El-Kady

where is our presedent from those criminals ??!!

Manal Saleh

How many incidents do you claim have definitely happened... be realistic there might be harassment but rape? give evidence if you have any!

"Egypt's ruling party is paying gangs of thugs to sexually assault women to prevent them from going out for work or study."

that is totally untrue , that the opposition just was to cover their scandal which happened by the protesters of the opposition party in the square 1 month back , so they slandered that big lie to delude the international media , I got videos by the victims themselves narrating what happened.

Basma Gandhi

thank you so much , you are amazing , God bless you and your family .

I think violence aganist women or men or kids is in a relationship with DICTATORSHIP.... we shouldn't blame any one we should blame ourselves cuz DICTATORSHIP inside lot of people... that crime become a culture of our country... we should change ourselves not our country. we should do Self-revolution..

Ina'am Tahhan

I think it should start from you, just by changing your last name honey

Lin Lobb

Why change a name?

Indeed I'm against any nonhuman behavior , but claiming that Muslim brotherhood were behind the gangs that made such horrible to protester is also extremely naive and even idiot assumption! would they do things against their own stability! some common sense please.
