We the undersigned  request that  the honourable sentencing Judge in the Provincial Court of British Columbia apply the maximum penalty available under the law...

MAXIMUM SENTENCE FOR BRIAN WHITLOCK, WHO HAS PLEAD GUILTY OF CAUSING UNNECESSARY PAIN AND SUFFERING TO CAPTAIN THE GERMAN SHEPHERD DOG..

We the undersigned  request that  the honourable sentencing Judge in the Provincial Court of British Columbia apply the maximum penalty available under the law for this offence, which is 5 years in prison. Captain was a two year old German Shepherd dog who was discovered on July 18, 2012 wrapped in a bloody sheet and left in a dumpster in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. When Captain was found he was emaciated, and had also been stabbed and brutally beaten with a heavy chain and baseball bat, being rendered quadriplegic and with brain hemorrhaging. Despite the best efforts of those caring for him, Captain passed away from cardiac arrest shortly after being rescued from the dumpster.

Brian Whitlock, Captain's owner, was charged with "wilfully causing unnecessary pain, suffering, or injury to an animal" contrary to Section 445.1(1)(a) of the Criminal Code of Canada.

Captain suffered horribly. Captain was beaten, stabbed, and starved, and was still living, when he was thrown into a dumpster.

What was done to Captain was an act of violent cruelty.

It is a well-documented fact that those who abuse animals may also become violent toward humans and thus pose a risk to society.

BRIAN WHITLOCK HAS RECENTLY PLEADED GUILTY, so we respectfully petition for the following:

MAXIMUM SENTENCE FOR BRIAN WHITLOCK, GUILTY OF CAUSING UNNECESSARY PAIN AND SUFFERING TO CAPTAIN THE GERMAN SHEPHERD DOG.

I am so tired of hearing about beaten animals if I ever get a chance I'm going to kick the shit out of them animals are the most gentile beasts on the planet Captain didn't deserve such torture however they are making abuser laws stricter at least that is what I read,,,

Doug Wiseman

would love to find this piece of shit who did this,

Colleen Wall

No shit Doug these barbaric people how they can do the things they do. As you can tell very much animal activist..I used to beat kids up at school that tortured lost bet they slipped a beatiful German shepard I took those boys and slsmmed their heads together and beat the shit out of the humans...

@Brian Whitlock,

Hell has a special place waiting for you. Hoping to see you there soon.

I am so sick of twisted people getting away with murder!
Canada needs the death penalty & I don't care if 'it's just a dog or cat' - a murder is a fucking murder!!!
I say put a bullet into this waste of flesh & be done with him. He deserves nothing more than that.

I'm with you wholehearedly

I am in fear of those who could so easily harm the "least of us", what else are they capable of doing without conscience, empathy, morals? We better wise up to this KIND of abuse. It surely tells you much about that individual.

I never knew these "messages" existed. Katherine, I've signed as you asked but couldn't find the guts to read it. I hope it's well-written so that it does some good. I get nightmares. Since I was 8, when I saw my older neighbor & his buddy playing tennis with a newly born kitty. I couldn't make them stop BUT, I found the plastic bag containing another 17(where on earth does one get 17 ??) kitties with eyes still closed. I was only able to save 2, used goat's milk on my little finger but it wasn't easy & somehow they made it.

If it were up to me not only would he get maximum sentence for his crime, he would receive same torture he put Captain through!! Let the asshole know how it feels!!

Sounds about right!

I believe in 'an eye for an eye'. May he rot in hell.

Doesn't the Bible say Thou shall NOT KILL? A LIFE IS STILL a LIFE . And he should get LIFE NOT 5 YEARS

Was sad to read that someone could be that cruel, and toss aside a beautiful creature whose sole purpose is to love unconditionally. Saddens me to think that poor dog was left to die and suffer pain unimaginable. My hope is that Brian Whitlock receives the max of 5 years in prison.

I think he needs more than 5 years. If he did this to a human he would get more. Now you may say, but there is a difference. Well yes and no. The difference is that an animal would never do this to another species for no reason other than to eat the species for survival. Humans do the most self serving crimes to each other and to other species. So why do we say give this man 5 years for doing this to a dog and more years if he does it to a human? Because a human has rights. Because a human can think and talk like a human. Animals do not talk , think or feel like us, therefore they should not share the same rights. This way of thinking is archaic, and is slowly changing. Because there is a connection to animal abuse and human abuse. Humans who abuse humans practice their abuse on animals because they can get away with it and as a result remain and continue to be abusive. Eventually they will graduate to human crimes and abuse. Besides, take a real close look at they way animals feel. They feel pain and pleasure just like us because they are mammals. Shame on you if you think otherwise. You are living in an unconscious state of mind, numb and arrogant. wake up and see the real truth.

Vera Jensen

Right on the money Sia

do unto others as you would have them do unto you! that person should be treated the same way he treated this poor dog he should be left in the same state that captain was left in, rest in peace captain your suffering has ended.

Vera Jensen

I realize that 2 wrongs DON'T make a right BUT this sort of people don't care how the animal or person feels, they are just into the pain they are inflicting. Should have been thrown out with the wash water!!
