I had what they call PAGETS diease which is very rare. It starts as a crust on your nipple. I found it myself. It was never picked up on any test that the doctors ordered. So my wonderful dr decided to do a byopsy and found it. The short of the story was she thought it was really not much and so I went just to have the nipple removed. But after 3 times in the OR they thought the margins were ok and had to have radiation for 8 weeks, which was so much on me that I had to take a break and its almost a year now and I am still not myself. My breast is hard and it hurts. This is a cancer no one even talks about and it should be, I was tested like Angelina Jolie because of family history and background but I did come out lucky there and do not carry the gene. It is some kind of cancer that I really believe we need to talk about more and make people aware of. People have no idea .

I discovered a lump in my left breast in September 2012. I was in total shock and very scared, no family history, although had spent a couple of years working ridiculously long hours, with little sleep, a poor diet and no exercise. I went straight to my doctor. Within a couple of hours I had had a mammogram and sonogram as well as a needle test. A week after diagnosis I was in surgery. Bad news was that it was extremely aggressive (high proliferation score, triple negative), good news was that I caught it early (Stage 2A - no lymph node involvement). I then went into 8 cycles of chemo and 25 sessions of radiotherapy. Thanks to a great surgeon and a wonderful Oncologist, I am now on the road to recovery with a low probability of recurrence. I am looking forward to seeing my children grow up and hopefully, one day, my grandchildren. The moral of the story is to act fast. Don't wait. Deal with what you have to deal with quickly and decisively. Quick action saved me.

I was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer in 2009 it was aggressive and had gone into the lymph nodes on my right side. I was given the option of removing the lump or having a mastectomy, so I opted the mastectomy. If the doctors spoke to me more about removing both at the same time I would of done it. I was uncertain about the whole ordeal. My husband was with me at the time and suggested to have my right breast removed. I had not long finished having the Herceptin treatment when it returned on my left side, I was upset at the fact that I had to go through chemo again, which I was told by the breast nurse I didn't need to have chemo again because it didn't reach the nodes. I was so happy until my medical oncologist said other wise. Because the tumor was the same size as the first one I was told it would be a good idea to have the chemo. My cancers were unrelated but both hormonal, if I had more info at the time I would of removed both at the same time. I thank God for keeping me here

I was diagnosed Jan. 13, 2010. However, God had already spoke to me for 2 days prior and he prompted me to check on mamma. date and it was the next day. 2 days with him set my heart and spirit to stand strong in it all. However, humanity kicked me in my car. It was a shadow of death. No man could do.God coud do everything! He told me to 'just believe'.My cancer was aggressive,stage 1.I had a bilateral mastectomy. After surgery, I developed an hematoma and second surgery to stop bleeding. I lost of 500 units of blood, My doctor refused a transfusion.He believed I was a strong . But God. 2 months, I began 52 weeks of treatment. why so Well , my type required aggressive measures. It was truly a testimony of faith in 'just believing . after my 6th chemo, I shaved my head. 2.5 years ago I was told I had breast cancer at 48. With the love and support of my family and friends and Ctca I am now a on the road to getting put back together. I have learned to put on my big girl panties and keep going. My grandson asked me one day if my booboo's were better and gave me a kiss. That made my booboo's all better.!!!
