Not only are traps cruel, they are also completely indiscriminate. Every year, dogs, cats, birds, and other animals—including endangered species—are "accidentally" crippled or killed by traps placed in public areas across the country.
The only way to prevent animal companions and other unintended victims from wandering into these horrific traps is for the U.S. to follow the lead of 88 other countries and ban the use of steel-jaw traps once and for all. As long as steel-jaw traps and other body-gripping devices are available to trappers, animals will continue to suffer and die in them.
Please help us be a humane county and let our ELECTED officials know how we feel about this. There are newer and more humane ways to solve this problem. Let's focus on HUMANE and NON-LETHAL methods.Recent Signatures

I am old now and I deeply regret having participated in trapping, 70 yrs later. The visions of my inflicted agonies and inhumanity plague me still as few others of my sins do. To those who still trap, stop it. If you don't regret it yet, you will… grievously. To those who work to stop it, keep up the good fight and recall that we are still in an "awkward phase" in human development, but change is inevitable.

I certainly do not believe it is ever to late to be genuinely sorry for something you did in your youth .who the he'll are you to question Mr. Lyon heart felt apology.judge not lest yea be judged.
Seabury, for each animal you trapped and tortured 10 trapper, who stop trapping because of your courage - that's turning hell in heaven!

I was going to join this petition, but then I saw how another human being was challenged by someone else here, because he admitted to having trapped animals before becoming aware of the atrocities he was involved in.. how dare you judge another human who joins you in good faith? This petition is not called oh come all yes trappers, we shall judge you... it should be a place to educate and eventually stop this utter crap! When you stand in Judgement, remember that Karma has a very big hand.

Jesse, I personally have applauded Seabury for his words of wisdom. It was just a signee that made those comments and I totally agree with you. We should all be so blessed to have seen this comment from Seabury because he is the voice of experience and I so appreciated what he said.
We are defintely the most selfish speicies in the world - not only that we decided that the world and all land belong to us, but also that other species don't have the choice nor right to exist or live if they don't get our mighty permission...

Put the trappers into those traps with both arms caught in the jaws and leave them there.
