Hawaiʻi is a unique situation as it has two official languages. As such, all educational experiences granted one language of instruction should be granted the other.
To treat each language differently would open the door to the legal interpretation of governmental policy as racist and colonial.

Why would anyone try to do this? I was born & raised in Hawaii is also part hawaiian. No matter what happens the Hawaiian Culture will be kept alive.
Why do you ask WHY WOULD ANYONE TRY TO DO THIS? To put on
To be recognized as a separate culture from the American culture that it shares its statehood with. Hawai'ian culture and language must be recognized by the world as its own culture having its own traditions, not just assumed, but federally, and worldwide recognition!
Hawaiian Culture is Hawaiian Lanquaqe to preserve, perpetuate, educate is Hawaiian Lanquaqe its our first lanquaqe. Its our ancestoral lanquaqe more then official lanquaqe.
Mahalo uncle. So much mana`o. Ai, `Olelo ke pu`uwai.
I am not of Hawaiian ancestry per se, however, I was born and raised in Honolulu, all my education is from Hawaiian schools, it would be a shame that the Hawaiian language and culture would somehow die out. I loved learning to speak Hawaiian and play the ukulele when I was little and of course the food. I don't live in Hawaii anymore, but it will always be home.
Michelle, I want you to produce your birth certificate! LOL..
For our people, our younger generations to learn and to keep strong, the language that is what our native Hawaiians would want us to do, our ancestral language that was and is Hawaiian and it is always to keep it alive and it will live on.To keep learning the Hawaiian ways, Education is most Important to keep the Hawaiian language in our Schools and in Colleges.....
Did you know that Bank of Hawaii will add Hawaiian Language to their Bank Machines.
I'd love to hear my grandchildren and their children 'Olelo Hawai'i like they're singing! Our Hawaiian Language is so awesome. yet the outsiders wanna put a stopper on it...I ask, why stomp the language? In other words, Why stomp what's not yours? In fact, I wish they'll install Hawaiian Language in all Bank of Hawaii Machines as one wahine stated, that would be awesome!
Mahalo for the oppurtunity! Ho'omana'o ka olelo Hawaii aka Mai Poina to matou orero Matuahine Remember the Hawaiian language but don't forget your mother tongue.... Te Orero Matuahine Kawika Kapahulehu Captain of Hokule'a 1976 Hawai'i to Tahith and back.....

Eō e Halena ē! I mua!
@Kimokeo. Well said another important point is the need to create an assessment of their learning at these truly unique and innovative educational programs that make a significant contribution to Hawaiʻiʻs educational system.
