Opposed to racist hate speech found on Facebook sites (such as "Idle no more Resistance") towards First Nations peoples.
Facebook pages such as "Idle no more Resistance" (https://www.facebook.com/pages/Idle-no-more-Resistance/410479792366981) clearly contains racist hate speech, contrary to Facebook Community Standards:
"Hate Speech
Facebook does not permit hate speech, but distinguishes between serious and humorous speech. While we encourage you to challenge ideas, institutions, events, and practices, we do not permit individuals or groups to attack others based on their race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, sex, gender, sexual orientation, disability or medical condition."
Despite several complaints to Facebook this page has been allowed to remain. The racist hate speech is directed towards First Nations/Native peoples. Mostly because of the Idle No More movement, a non-confrontational grass roots organization, which has come forward to bring awareness and educate others on First Nations issues.
"Idle no more Resistance" states in its "About": "For Canadians sick of paying taxes to support aboriginal "rights" . Lets just all work, pay our tax and treat every Canadian the same. Enough hand outs." The moderator will not reveal his (or her) name since he (or she) says they are afraid they may be harmed. If you have nothing to hide, why wouldn't you provide a name.
On top of that, Facebook doesn't see anything wrong with "Idle no more Resistance". Here is their response:

Thanks for your recent report of a potential violation on Facebook. After reviewing your report, we were not able to confirm that the specific page you reported violates Facebook's Statement of Rights and Responsibilities."
Then suggest looking at their so-called Community Standards....which are quoted above....so despite their Community Standards clearly staing hate speech isn't tolerated "Idle no more Resistance" is allowed to remain....wonder if FB actually took the time to read some of the comments posted there???? Pretty sure they didn't.
There are other similar pages also...."Canadians Against Idle No More" (https://www.facebook.com/#!/pages/Canadians-Against-Idle-no-More/514624981910488?fref=ts) with only 1 Like so far....and then there is the "Assembly of Second Nations Against Aboriginal Racism" (https://www.facebook.com/#!/AssemblyOfSecondNations) whose site describes as follows: 'The Assembly of Second Nations -peoples standing up against institutionalized racism, to abolish The Indian Act and move beyond race based laws.' And states further in its Description: 'due to an extreme case of severe racist, abusive, threatening, intimidating, and sheer disgusting posts from First Nations peoples, they are no longer permitted to post on my page. This is for Second Nations, all the people who are not the right race to be able to call this home, according to the aboriginals who say they own it all and we can "get lost" if we don't like paying them rent. So, this is not a place for them, they have their page to do their race based politics. Here we are all different races who come together.' The moderator even claims to "formally filed a complaint with the Canadian Human Rights Commission for hate crimes from The Assembly of First Nations, against the citizens of Canada."
Then there is "Idle No More Get A Damn Job" (https://www.facebook.com/pages/Idle-No-More-Get-a-damn-job/429641760440455?fref=ts). Here is how their Facebook page reads:

Most of the comments allowed on such sites are very similiar to what goes on in the "STORMFRONT" White power on-line forum. I don't agree with or appreciate the hate speach that these White Power folks spew out. But I also realize that they will most likely not change their hateful views just because we speak out or argue with them. However we shouldn't have to put up with such racist ignorant hateful speech on a public online social media provider like Facebook. At the very least this info will raise awareness that these sorts of hateful people are on here spreading and perpetuating hate.

Big difference between a Native Canadian and a native of Canada like yourself (although I see you live in the Dominican Republic)....mostly with the rights of each. Not just in the past but also today.

The ruined and strained relationships today is 99% the fault of those your fools. Canada spends over $100,000 per year per reserve family. That should be eliminated and these "nations" should tax their own people to raise the money to run their over "self-government". As you and I know most of that money is lost in gov. and band bureaucracy. Another serious point. My family came from Holland in 1953. So we were not here when all those deals were made. Like the vast majority of Canadians we came here after all that. But note this. My parents came by boat and never expected to see any of their large extended family again in this life. No planes and cheap tickets. Yet they left their family and culture and language behind for a better life and like all immigrants back then they worked harder than most. No welfare. So the best thing for all those scattered reserves in the North is to leave the poverty and welfare and do what we all did. Move to where the jobs are and integrate. You kids won't be so isolated and killing themselves. They will have a future.
Canada does not hand over $100,000 per First Nations family. That is how much they spend administiring those funds. Aside from that when your family showed up here they did not bring with them the wealth of resources that Native people have. That's right unceded lands and resources is what you are looking at. Canadians have been benefitting from resources that do not belong to them. And just because your family up and left their people, their culture and language, turned their back on their ancestoral homes doesn't mean Native should follow suit. I for one won't. Your solutions are cheap and lazy. Monies don't come from the poor hard working Canadian. Get over yourselves. There was a trust set up over a hundred fifty years ago worth a few trillion with a significant annual interest. That is where the feds get the money for Indians. Land and Resources are held by the Crown. Doesn't mean it is for Canadian public use. Read the Indian Act it is held in trust for Indians. We don't have problems because were isolated. We have problems with a government who have illegally usurped control, over looking our inherent rights in International law, whose tactics including eliminating us any way possible from the population at the very least to destroy our identity to gain complete control once and for all.

Intolerance in the form of words doesn't hurt anyone who isn't emotionally mature enough to handle real-world things. However, trying to get Facebook to silence someone because their ideas offend you is just...stupid.

The comments on that page show racism on both sides and 2 wrongs do not make a right. We are 1 people and we need to start thinking that way or we will soon be so devoured in hate there will be none.
