Do you think you could do your job and get results if you work less than half the weekdays in a year?

Make them all work for MINIMUM WAGE, NO PENSION. NO HEALTH CARE and work all but 10 days of the year.... see how they like it...
I agree they wouldn't do half the shit they do if they had to work for minimum wage and actually have to work all the time not go on vacation every two or three months. Seriously why don't they cover the debt of America I'm sure out of the house senate and all that they'd cover more than just the debt they decided to put us in
There are service men and women risking their lives 24 hours a day 7 days a week. I think these policy making knuckleheads can sit on their ass and do some work at least Monday through Friday. Absolutely unforgivable
Many of us support our Service People and not our policies Ethan!
A change is going to come. Keep HOPE alive.

To be aware of what "their" people want, members of Congress must spend time in their districts. But how can they vote on what is needed when they are not present in Washington for over 1/2 the time. They are also among the few who can give themselves a raise.

Senators, Representatives - what is your hourly wage? So many are struggling to even find a minimum wage job. The deficit is already too high. Perhaps a look at waste in government, including your paychecks and pensions need to be looked at before raising taxes on those who go to work every single day.
There is a movie, a "comedy", which best reflects my feelings. In that movie, "Dave", a mere look-alike for the President, finds himself actually being President. Who does he get to help untangle a fiscal mess - a good accountant. Maybe you need actual working people as your advisers instead of lobbyists and special interest groups. The Cabinet could use some of the same advice - someone who has successfully run a profitable business, a career police officer, a trained accountant. Let's get people in place who may not really want the job, but who can DO the job. I know, I'm too idealistic.
They had better be more productive than the last 2 years. They are not being called the "do nothing" congress for nothin'.
can we tell them they can't get paid until they fix our economy? over 30% of my checks went to them every pay day. and they don't see fit to work every day for a job we literally handed them.
they make the rules, get paid a fortune, get the best pension plan, get better medical than us who are less than. and their policies SUCK... get em out and get some fresh blood in there.
