Petition to make animal abuse a more serious offense!
- Posted to love earths animals by Nathan King
To: U.S. judges
ill keep this short....I am tired of seeing mans best friends hurt and abused.
the law gives so much leway for people to do what ever they want to them.
I reach out to those of you who have pets and love them! please help us
punish these people a little more severely then a little time in jail and fines.

People who love theyre pets should sign this because there are people out there who would hurt an inocent animal and not care because there is no reason to. the law will smack them on the wrist and often times they go right back to hurting our friends. Its up to us to stop this madness.

no abuse and violence
I think the punishment should be very clear and specific. Banned from keeping animals for life would be a good start but not enough in itself. Sometimes you hear of a 1/2 year ban...it's just not good enough. If they have the mentality to torture/abuse a living, feeling animal/creature...a short ban will not stop them (what I'd like to do to them can not be expressed!!!)
tout a fait d'accord (y)
I think people who do this to animals should get the same treatment, it'd stop it pretty fast.
Help the animals. No abuse, They are our best friends.
I love animal's
I love animals too .they are fantastic.
If you find yourself more concerned about the animals than the actors on TV, you are an animal lover. As one who has tried (and frequently succeeded) to save an injured animal, I ask you to join this effort.
"a LITTLE more severe"? Are you crazy? I'd invite friends to sign if you said something like "MUCH more severe..." You MUST say what you mean. Irony and sarcasm doesn't come across on e-media or petitions. Please rewrite it and say you think the punishment doesn't fit the crime and suggest MUCH more severe punishments. You might get more signatures. Also, you obviously do not have a good command of the English language. Unfortunately, this issue is too important to be presented in...

You might get more signatures. Also, you obviously do not have a good command of the English language. Unfortunately, this issue is too important to be presented in less than perfect language, grammar, spelling, punctuation, etc., so find someone to help you edit it, someone who went to college maybe and came out with some writing skills. This issue is too important not to present it in the most powerful way possible. I am 100% behind it!
Nathan King, I am just asking you to do your best, or better in communicating because the only power we have is in writing or speaking. Words can be powerful weapons. Illiteracy cannot make a powerful point. And when you say "either sign it or don't..." are you saying I shouldn't be allowed to write what I want on here, but everyone else should? If so, you just don't get it. If you read and understood my original comment you would see that it's not about proper grammar, it's about power. Great writing is powerful. Illiteracy is annoying and just sounds whiney. If you want to change things and the only tool you have is your ability to write persuasively, you must make your ideas clear, concise and powerful.
Well said Ruth!!

Have the abusers treated in the same way they treated the animals.
Amen!
Early, primary education & persuasion are better than heavy handed punishment, although it can have its detterent effect in some cases.
It makes me sick to my stomach when I see any living thing suffer the abuse by the hands of a human being.
Yes, I agree, that is why we have to fight for the ones that can't or won't fight for their selves.
This Animal Abuse, Must Be Stopped! Oh, it's So Horrible To See....Poor Loving Doggie..
