First Think I want To Say To The Parents Of Those Children Who Got killed From Age 5 to 7 And up.that am sooo soo sorry for you..and yes I agree too that the guns should be banded from all stores or anywhere else.before it happends to other school.young kids shouldn't ber alow to by guns.the store owners should know better then sell guns to older kids.they should know they want to use that gun to kill someone.. Here's a fourth "big idea" I haven't heard discussed yet...SAFE SHELTER SPACES in each and every classroom, designed to protect from weather disasters, gunshots, chemical attacks, etc. I was flabbergasted to see that FEMA has already researched and designed along these lines (see below title and additional link). While an initial cost is involved, these can last indefinitely and don't require hiring employees with benefits, training needs, and their own set or risks. Drills on entering these spaces rapidly could be as common as a fire drill. Why should our children be killed trying to rush into bathrooms (which most classrooms don't have) and too small broom closets? To me owning guns is immoral. In1791 this Ammendment was enacted that a militia should be allowed to own a gun. These condtions don't exist today. We have a well ordered goernment. hunting is merely a hobby. We had patterned our laws after England's later throwing them out. My sister taught school for may years and she knows of gun-related incidents involving children. She said I hate guns and so do I, Those assualt weapons that tore apart those 6 & 7 year old bodies were torn apart with an assualt weapon. Please let us stop distroying each other and our young.

A message from Australia - i and many others were horrified at the Sandy Hook tragedy. As a grandmother I do not know what can be done to stop the carnage but surely we can do something to stop the slaughter of innocents and the devastation it causes their loved ones. Cath Keese.

I am the granddaughter, daughter, niece and mother of family members who have served in the United States Military. I failed to find mention of the Second Amendment Right to Bear Assault Weapons and Magazines to massacre innocent children in our schools. The evolution of our humanity has positively influenced equal rights and has restricted, disbanded, curtailed or advocated big money makers like the tobacco and alcohol industries. We must now evolve to make necessary accommodations current. How can we expect teachers to fire a weapon when there are law enforcement officers who struggle or are reluctant to fire a weapon during their career? I believe that one voice - although not the strongest, the loudest or the wealthiest - can reverberate a ripple effect of change and quietly sway an otherwise still resolve. I woke suddenly in the middle of the night with the following words resounding in my head, "More guns and bullets is not the answer, Jesus would not want it." I tried to put it out of my head, but I feel that I am supposed to do my part to share that message. While I am a spiritual person, I am not particularly religious. My understanding is that Jesus was a man of peace. I can't imagine him advocating for people to load up on more guns and place armed people in schools - surrounding our children with weapons.

Australia had a mad man slaughter 35 people with an Assault Weapon. Yes, he was "mentally disturbed "; they have always been with us but NOT assault weapons. Australia, a country similar to us with the same morals has banned assault weapons. We can do it also.

Think they should band. Guns because to many kids r getting shot an killed I no a lot of who have been hurt by a gun it's time for us to put a stop to it before an other school shooting lets come together. An do this
