The Polar Bears ,their Habitat shrinks by Global Warming. By the additional Hunting for their Pelts they are in Danger of Extinction. There are only 20,000 left!
The argument with the Inuit is just a bullshit pretext. The Inuit have their own demand for meat that has never threatened the survival of polar bears.
Behind this legal loophole is represented the whole fur trade and trophy industry, with semi-automatic weapons shooting all animals in their sights. This involves a lot of money. The Canadian Government does nothing about it.
Now in the Arctic Circle, hundreds and thousands of hunters come to hunt for polar bears for $35,000 a head, and they come from all over the world- Mexico, Europe, the U.S, and even Canada's "Inuit" communities, many of whom hunt their quotas and legally sell them onto outsiders wiling to part with cash. For some countries, they allow hunters to take polar bear hides back, as long as they have the paperwork. According to the Independent, last year the U.S. banned the importation of polar bear hides but most countries, including Britain, place no restrictions on the skins.

The Canadian government is ruthless in supporting the murder of wildlife for the profiteering hunters who sell the pelts. The world community has been signing petitions for years, against the annual and very cruel seal hunts. So now it's polar bears too... They'd be better off tossing a few bucks at these hunters, and leaving wildlife to live in their natural states, and in peace.
Dian, if you are a Canadian, then you should stay calm and take it easy . it is a debate for the positive and good causes . life is a fundamental right for both animals and humans . cruelity shouldnt be a granted right to people whatever thier nationality to justify killing animals .

I do not know if and when it ends, but I can say this: I will sign petitions like this one and fight for the rights of every living being until my last day comes or if I will be live to see it until the world is like the world should be: a place where every animals and men and women from all nations, races and religions can live in peace, healthy and wealthy, side by side.

How can it be a privilege to kill any animal,let alone those on this danger list.
They are just a bunch of cowards who like to show off to their friends how brave they think they are.

I understand that we are the dominate species on earth and what we had to do to survive and keep warm. Now in all our intelligence and wisdom some of us may choose to kill for meat but no longer do we have a need to KILL to keep warm. Hunting is a joke because there is no fairness involved. Unless the so called hunter puts on some home made claws and teeth then see how truly is the King of the jungle. There's no skill involved in killing a Polar bear with a rifle or something that the so...

As I commented on a similar topic, one day like a scene from one of those futuristic movies, all you see is a darkened sky, automated smog making machines and no wildlife at all, no birds, nothing! It is very possible that could be our fate as early as next year. It doesn't take much to destroy everything. We've been doing a bang up job so far...
Couldn't agree more...but are the Chinese Christians - they skin cats alive for the fur and meat trade and keep animals in factory conditions for their medicines.
