We want rape to considered a more heinous crime than terrorism and want very brutal punishments for rapists. By brutal punishments, we mean the type of punishments which will remind them, every single minute, that they have done something which is not AT ALL Acceptable in human society.

Today I walked on Madambakkam Main Road with a placard in Tamil demanding hanging of rapists.
Commendable,Sundar. Keep up your commitment to social causes.Knowing you, I am certain your protest was prompted by genuine concern. I do hope your demand covered ALL rapists including the reported "rape of more than 80 women in Kunan Poshpora during the night of February 23, 1991 by army jawans" (In case the report is factually correct) and also the rape of women during the communal riots in Gujarat in 2002. It is also reported that breasts of women were bitten off by those hoodlums rioting in Gujarat. I wish such reports are not true but I wouldn't put anything beyond human depravity, particularly when the mobs are incited for the sake of reaping political benefits.
