Exciting news, we have a garden site for our first greenhouse in Trench Town, Jamaica! This greenhouse will be used to grow fruits and vegetables for local school children and teach them the importance of healthy foods. This is a huge step for the program.
But, as our update video explains, the road to getting Trench Town's children the healthy foods the fruits and vegetables they need is a long one. Dr. Henley Morgan explains this challenge in our update video:
"The schools struggle to fix a good meal; one that has a little protein, a little rice, but one of the things that is always missing is the vegetable. That's not a balanced meal!"
Good food in schools is a common challenge in these communities. Children cannot grow up healthy on french fries and mayonnaise, but schools don't have the produce or the resources to give kids the balanced diet they need.
There has got to be a better way.
Children should not have to grow up malnourished when healthy vegetables and fruits can be grown right there in their own community. That's why we are thrilled to be breaking ground on the new greenhouse in Trenchtown. As Dr. Horace Williams says in the video:
"We welcome the Mind Garden at our school, because we think that this is an idea that has come of age."
As the Mind Gardens Project grows, schools like Horace Williams' will be able to make sure school lunches have the fruits and vegetables that children need to develop healthy minds and bodies. Keep the momentum up by sharing this video with your friends and family.
Don't forget you can also join the Mind Gardens Project on Facebook and Twitter.

Encouraging children to grow their own vegetable garden will increase the chances for them to enjoy eating their own vegitables. Xcellent Idea for a better nutrition for better health.
Yes agree!
Nation or Non Governmental Organization have to take part on this
