Show Some Love! Stop Gay Kids Being Abused by Junk Therapy #stopabuse

Firstly, thanks for taking the time to sign the #stopabuse on LGBT minors by supporting the fight against Junk Therapy petition. There is only 1 day left for this petition and we need your help. We wondered if you had seen that New Jersey was thinking of banning this quack LGBT conversion therapy completely. Of course California already has, and when we get this resolution passed we'll no longer have a pipeline of our tax dollars funding quack therapists and their destructive practices.

Senate President Steve Sweeney said he hopes Governor Chris Christie, who vetoed marriage equality legislation, will support the ban on therapy that seeks to "change" the sexual orientation of minors.

The good news is that more and more of our legislators are signing on to co-sponsor this resolution to stop our tax dollars being spent on harmful quack therapy. Quack therapy that harms its victims.

Thanks for being one of the first 3,000 people to sign the petition. So many of you signed it, so quickly that they've noticed on Capitol Hill.

We need you to do 3 quick things though to make sure this resolution passes.

1/. Use that big green button there to invite your friends. Show people you care and share why. Being gay is not a choice, please help your friends understand that this junk therapy, now banned in California, does real harm to kids.

2/. Promote this on your Facebook wall and on Twitter. Let people know where you stand and ask your friends to help. You can do that right from Causes once you invite your friends.

3/. Thank a Congressperson today. So far House Concurrent Resolution 141, that's what the Stop Harming Our Kids (SHOK) resolution is called, has 6 cosponsors. Please reach out and thank them for their support and as importantly CALL YOUR CONGRESSPERSON AND ASK THEM TO CO-SPONSOR HOUSE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION 141.
