Historic Blair Mountain, the site of one of the largest labor uprisings in U.S. history, in 1921, is under assault by the coal industry.
Coal companies have plans to literally blast Blair Mountain off the map through a process called mountaintop removal mining -- the most destructive form of coal mining there is.
President Obama and West Virginia Governor Earl Ray Tomblin have the power to save Blair Mountain, but the coal industry has a powerful lobby, so they have yet to do so. We need to make this a national issue. Please sign this petition and share with all your friends and family. Together we can save Blair Mountain and the rest of Appalachia from mountaintop removal, once and for all.

Blowing up a mountaintop to extract a thin vein of coal is a wise and responsible as removing the top of one's head to extract a tooth. Can we STOP being so egregiously stupid and irresponsible?
not the best way to say things but.......i guess it does get the point across.
Th
Dirty deeds,,, done dirt cheap. Lobbyists have had their way with our public offocials, who are nothing but whores apparently. Nobody should have the right to pollute the earth on the massive scale described here. Nobody should even have the right to call a mountain their property to destroy. But these are the realities. We must come up with ways to fight this insanity quickly because too much has already been lost. And the momentum already established could ruin the entire planet. This is urgent!
How would you like mount Rainier to look like mount St. Helens.

Both Democrats & Republicans, are Sociopathically hypocritical.. when it comes to saying, they care about such things - while demonstrating by their INACTION, they worship the "almighty dollar". Corporate / Industry Lobbyists - - have always been the TRUE power, in D.C.
