STOP Dynamite Fishing..Now

The State of the Mediterranean Sea along the Lebanese coastline is disastrous at all levels and the situation is going from bad to worse.

We the People Living on the Mediterranean, Lebanese Citizens, the Lebanese Diaspora, All Friends of Humans, Nature, Environment, The Seas and Oceans and Lebanon WorldWide, understand the Great Challenges of Leaders in Your position.

The dynamite fishing, although it is banned in Lebanon, there are no measures to anticipate or prevent this practice or even enforce the protecting laws.

Dynamite fishing which is destroying all marine eco-system, and we urge and demand for implementation of surveillance patrols and implement coastal protection laws.

Overexploitation, pollution and dynamite fishing have ravaged the marine fauna along the 220 km that is Lebanese Mediterranean Coast, depriving the 8000 fishermen in the coastal city of Tyre of their main resource, directly implicating an increase in Jell-Fish population in the Mediterranean putting at risk touristic summer activities all along the Mediterranean.

Experts say that several species, including the Red Mullet, Grouper and small Barracudas, are in the process of disappearance, mainly because of bad fishing practices.

"We are destroying our sea", the illegal practice of dynamite fishing, destroyed beyond recovery the marine ecosystem.

Protect it before it is too late...
