Take the Pledge2,464 people took the pledge
The Kenya Red Cross Society (KRCS) has started a campaign to collect 10 Million signatures advocating for peaceful elections in 2013 dubbed Kumbuka 2008, Chagua Amani. Through the campaign we are asking Kenyans to take a position for peace as we all remember the
terrible events of 2008 that followed the elections.
The Campaign guided by the fundamental principles of humanity, impartiality, neutrality, independence, voluntary service, unity and universality is working to raise awareness on the importance of tolerance, forgiveness and acceptance asking all to say no to violence and take a position for peace.
The Chagua Amani Campaign has opened the discussion to all through social media and the Kenya Red Cross National network of 64 branches, 70,000 volunteers, 8 regional offices and 800 staff countrywide providing opportunities to get involved.
Nationally the campaign will seek to strengthen the spirit of volunteerism through encouraging people to use personal talents to alleviate human suffering and provide opportunities through preparedness training such as first aid and fire and rescue. Internationally we seek solidarity with those who help us meet our goal through signing the peace pledge and
through your financial support in order to expand the reach of the campaign.
Signatures for peace will be collected on social media platforms, via SMS, at strategic public events and on the at website https://www.kenyaredcross.org/amani/
The list will be publicized through media channels and key leaders, stakeholders and politicians encouraged to sign. We believe that with this multifaceted approach, Kenya will chart her destiny towards a better future.
We therefore request your support in making the campaign a success and thank you for your participation.
