Incessant gridlock in Washington apparently has left a deep impression on Americans, most of whom believe that President Obama and congressional Republicans won't be able to reach a compromise to avoid stumbling over the "fiscal cliff," come Jan. 1, according to a new Washington Post-Pew Research Center poll.
