Poll: Majority think Obama-Congress will go over 'fiscal cliff'
Incessant gridlock in Washington apparently has left a deep impression on Americans, most of whom believe that President Obama and congressional Republicans won't be able to reach a compromise to avoid stumbling over the "fiscal cliff," come Jan. 1, according to a new Washington Post-Pew Research Center poll.

In 2014 some of the members so Congress will be up for re-election, those that continue to hold the middle class and poor hostage must be removed.... we must continue to use the ballot box as our voices.
...Paulette, you have a good point here...I think there should be a bus rally in front of the halls of congress on election day(two years from now) and all republican members of the tea party should be loaded on them and with one big loud "bull horn" shout, we should all say "MOVE THAT BUS"!!!

President Obama has had four years to get our house in order and him and Harry Reid have made it worse. We are in serious trouble and Lip Service does not help our problem. Let's all pray that President Obama and Harry Reid will stretch their hands across the aisle and get serious. We need to be led by example, Air Force One needs to stay in Washington, DC and only two vacations per year and the rest of the time it should be Nose to the Grind Stone to get our issues started in the right direction. Lead by example would be nice. Barack Obama is a Multi-Millionaire and that is alright but I do not think he should pay more taxes. I read the other day that Mr. Obama's key staff owes about $900,000.00 in taxes that they refuse to pay, $900,000.00 is a drop in the bucket but a start.
Mr. Burdette, why can Congress take 7 weeks break at a time, how could you fail to miss that one? And the President who carries the weight of the country on his shoulders is only allowed 2 vacations? You know, you have no clue about the budget, about our spending, about anything if I read your post right. And could you provide the site for your information on Mr. Obama's staff? How about Mr. Romney's taxes at only 14% on his millions? Now, what's fair? And I believe Mr. Obama said that it is not fair what he pays in taxes, but get this Mr. Burdette...the tax code is the LAW. So both he and Romney are in accordance with the law. Oh, you didn't know that? People who haven't been on the tax rolls for the past 10 years, like some senior citizens? You want to squeeze pennies out of them? Shame on you. You are a silly man who doesn't think deeply or wisely. And talk about obstructionism, the GOP certainly did a lot of that. Google how many times they failed to vote on bills that could have moved us forward because of their desire to make Obama a one term President. Well, how did that work for them, but how did that work for Middle America, for whom they WORK? Mr. Burdette, you should be ashamed of yourself.
Garland Wayne Burdette: Obama has been stretching his hand across the isle from the get go. As for having four years to fix it all, get real. It's taken 30 years for the Republicans to destroy our economy (with the help of some Democrats). Moreover, please check the stats on the last four years of Obama's presidency. You'll see that there has been progress. There probably would have been much more if the TeaBaggers and the rest of the Republicans hadn't made it their life's work to stop his reelection and say no to everything proposed even when some of the ideas originated with the Repubs. As for the vacations issue, were you sleeping during Bush's reign of error? Have you checked on the vacation times of the repubs in congress (specifically the house)?
He was reelected by the people and needs our support.
I think the GOP better get with the program or they will become extinct in the future. God I can only hope they do!
Go off ... end the Bush tax cuts, resume business at hand and initiate tax relief for the middle class retroactively. Fear not ... The Obama has spoken, as the people have heard and responded with their answer ... 4 more years!
