175 people took the pledge
On Monday October 15th at Noon PDT Amazon Watch will hold the final in our series of online events to celebrate 15 years of defending the rainforest and advancing indigenous rights.
Join us LIVE at http://causes.com/amazonwatchlive and hear from our honored guests and staff as we celebrate this year's achievements for the people and the rainforests of the Amazon.
Our honored guests this year are Kichwa leaders from the Sarayaku community in Ecuador. The Kichwa made world news headlines recently by winning their case before the Inter-American Court of Human Rights, landing a major victory for indigenous self-determination in the face of egregious industrial development threats. Tupak Amaru Viteri Gualinga, community Vice President, and celebrated Sarayaku leader Marlon Santi will share their inspiring story.
ALSO - Join a live Twitter-chat using the hashtag #AmazonWatchLive and send in your questions and comments. In a live post-lunch reception our guests from Sarayaku will answer your questions.
