ABOUT ALLOW 18+ BACK ON CHIPPEWA! SAVE COLLEGE THURDAYS!!

To: SAVE THE BARS! SAVE COLLEGE NIGHT!

Chippewa is mainly supported by the huge success of College Night! This has been powered mainly by the overwhelming support of 18-20 year olds, which are now banned from being on Chippewa after 10pm. Please sign this to show support to 18+ being allowed back in the bars and clubs!

As of October 4th, 2012, the bars and nightclubs of Chippewa took a big hit as the common council announced that no one under 21+ would be allowed on Chippewa St after 10pm, putting a damper to College Night Thursdays in Buffalo, and as a result, causing financial harm to many of the bars and clubs. Without 18+ back, many of these bars will struggle and may eventually close their doors.

Please sign the petition to allow 18+ back on Chippewa after 10pm!

Last night alone saw the loss of literally $20k+ of revenue to the street. Not only are the bar owners affected but every staff member at every bar and local eatery (Mighty Taco, Jims Steakout, etc.) will be losing shifts if this ban continues. All the taxi cab drivers that bring people downtown will suffer. We need to end this ban and end it soon. Call Darius Pridgen, the Buffalo City Common Council member that represents the Chippewa area at 716-851-4980 and ask that the 18+ ban be...

Denying tens of thousands of Buffalo college students the ability to mingle with their friends in supervised downtown nightlife venues is economically irresponsible... We ask that you also sign this online petition after you make the call!

holy run on sentance.... lol

That's dumb my friend's daughter's 18th bday falls on thurs oct 18th. I was going to bring her out. Honestly I think 18+ should be Wednesday & Thursday. Too busy for one day but come on it is better than the 18-20 going to unsupervised parties full of drugs & alcohol. Besides 18 to join the Military. They should be allowed to have fun. I wonder how cops will treat kids that just left a Shays event at 11pm just walking to their cars. Will it be a crime to go to mighty Taco or Jim's steak out...

What about the 18-20 year old bar employees? They are making a bad choice & most of all it hurts business in a city that is already struggling for business.

Call me nieve but for the few that sneak some alcohol, they'd do it some where else. But when I was underage I'd go to Club Velvet on under night in Canada. I was 17/18 a few friends were 19&20 but we didn't care about the drinking we just had fun out dancing & hanging out with our friends. I know that was centuries ago (lol) but 18 is still 18 even if Gen Y doesn't seem to comprehend the importance of voting. Grrr I'm venting now. LoL

21 year olds and older no dumb teenagers too much drama.

La'Toya Mootie Thomas

clearly its the 21 and older crowd that bring the drama because they get to drink in our faces and then they get wasted and don't know how to act at all so we're not tho blame. and besides we only had one night to go on the strip and if you didn't like it you could've stay at home or went somewhere else on that ONE night!

the same crap has been going on since clubs began...people get shot, stabbed...its the city..what are you going to do...go back in time and change that? and with drugs, just ban them if you notice the drugs from the club, don't ban everyone, it isn't fair.
