Do not touch our child benefit Irish Government

please keep sharing this 'cause' - it would be fantastic to get 30,000 signatures, I am in the middle of making arrangements with other like minded people to present this petition to a member of Oireachtas so I implore you to keep sharing, get people signing! We can't afford to take our feet off the pedal the Government needs to know we simply CANNOT afford any cuts to the child benefit, our children need it and the country needs its children - they are, our future....thank you for all your support and please dont forget the march organised against child benefit cuts on Saturday November 3rd at 12noon from Parnell Square if you can be there please please show your support. Thank to everyone who has supported this 'cause' and signed the petition, please don't stop sharing - the more signatures we have the better as these signatures are going to be presented to Joan Burton....she already knows this petition exists and I've been in contact with lots of other TD's, some of which have gotten behind this petition and will stand by us, I have been on radio and mentioned this petition, I'm working closely with other groups including 'parents against child benefit cuts' and pacub and these ladies are busy organising press releases and interviews and marches they aren't giving up either!...there is a march in Dublin on November 3rd so please please don't give up yet, we have to keep fighting, keep trying, we have to be able to tell our children that we kept going, that we never gave up on them, I for one, although feeling down about things am not going to give up until there are no more avenues to explore...thanks again for all your support and please please please keep signing, keep sharing.

Hi there, thanks again for all your signatures and your comments - I've emailed Joan Burton AGAIN to update her on the numbers who have signed the petition (almost 24,000 currently!) and informed her of all the groups that are popping up against any proposed cuts to the child benefit AND the many protest marches and rallies that are also being planned....I have emailed her now half a dozen times and have not received so much as an automated response.......just goes to show you what the Ministers really think of us....well I'm not going to stop bombarding her and other Government Ministers with emails and updates on our petition - we have to keep fighting!!

We have almost 20,000 names on our petition now WOW thanks so very much.....I have emailed all the Ministers about this petition and radio stations (though thus far have had no response)..please keep sharing and signing and thanks again, together we can make a difference!

Thanks everyone for joining this cause to stop to the Government from reducing our child benefit further or worse....almost 10,000 signatures have now being gathered in just 24hours!! I am finding it hard to keep up with all the comments so in case I haven't got back to anyone thanks so much and yes we will hopefully organise a march or a rally or some sort of protest as this seems to be what people want perhaps on the day we present the Ministers with our petition....I'm open to suggestions - I can be contacted personally on annemarie.rice@hotmail.co.uk as I can't always find threads and posts on here...thanks so much, keep sharing and passing on the word! Lads, first of all I want to thank you all for your support and your comments, its great to see we are all singing from the same hymn sheet here... I think we should try and high light this group on one of the radio stations or indeed lots of them what do yes think? I mean since 4pm yesterday and its now 8.30am we have almost 5000 signatures! would be great to get a bit of exposure and get some bigwigs behind us? what do yes think? a few texts/emails to some of the bigger radio stations? I'm working today but tomorrow I'll be bombarding them myself, we have to be heard!

Thanks to everyone for the comments and of course the all important signatures....I am over whelmed by the response, I knew people were angry, frustrated, frightened but I wasn't sure if they would respond to this 'cause' so glad you have! I can assure 100% that this will be presented to the Oireachtas however I manage to do it I will!! so keep sharing please and inviting friends to share as the more signatures the more of the chance of these 'leaders' in Politics taking notice of the plight of families in Ireland today...thanks again everyone :)
