The hospitals in the developing world often come with no medicines, bare operating rooms, and little equipment. But we've got something so incredible, we're beyond excited: over a MILLION dollars' worth of pain medication, sutures, oxygen monitors, medical supplies and antibiotics, from corporate partners like Johnson & Johnson and Abbott.
With a packed schedule of medical missions, we need to rush these basic supplies to surgical sites where they can do the most good!
Every $1 you give multiplies 15 times in impact. Please hurry — we need to raise $75,000 by September 30 so we can send these medical supplies to our upcoming medical mission sites.
All over the world, medical supplies like these help children struggling each and every day, children like Romaldo Santos. He's only two years old, but those two years have been filled with pain and abandonment.
When Romaldo was born with a cleft lip and cleft palate, his father was horrified and wanted to drown him. His mother, Karina, refused. Romaldo's father said, "You're ugly, the baby is ugly. You will raise him and I will stay with the nice kids." He left Karina and her newborn boy. They had no food, no water, and no home.
Romaldo has experienced few of the joys that other young children have. His mother struggles as a single parent — she is very poor and works as a banana picker. Romaldo is so small, so malnourished, he looks like he could be an eight month old baby. He doesn't walk or talk.
All because of a cleft.
Girls and boys like Romaldo need transformational surgery — a life-altering procedure that takes as little as 45 minutes and costs as little as $240. But while these families will spend their life's savings and travel for days to reach our operating rooms, they still need your help to provide happy endings for their children.
This can only happen with the help of people like you.
