THANK YOU to everyone who participated live and online at our Annual Celebration yesterday! The event was fantastic and our guests from Sarayaku were truly inspiring.
If you missed the event you can still watch it here. We are also still looking for additional donations to help meet our goal, so please make a contribution today to help Amazon Watch continue its work to protect the rainforest and support indigenous people. Thanks!
The video above, of our Annual Fundraising Luncheon features a presentation by our founder and executive director Atossa Soltani as well as a inspiration presentation by Tupac Amaru Kichwa leader of Sarayaku. We hope you will watch.
The Kichwa made world news headlines recently by winning their case before the Inter-American Court of Human Rights, landing a major victory for indigenous self-determination in the face of egregious industrial development threats.
Amazon Watch is celebrating many important victories for our campaigns in just this past year, but the Amazon and the communities that depend on them continue to face serious threats ranging from oil pollution to mega-dams. You can help us turn the tide and make a tremendous difference to the Amazon - the lungs of our planet and the home to hundreds of thousands of indigenous peoples.
Please support our Cause today. Make a real difference that affects all life on Earth.
Thanks!
PS - As part of our celebration we held other online events beginning with a performance by Grammy nominated singer Debi Nova. You can still watch it above.
