Stop the arbitrary closure of 27 poor black schools in the Western Cape. First consult parents, teachers and communities to compile a plan for the closure of schools, before you unilaterally embark on a chopping course!

To protect our rights, we have to look out for the most vulnerable and poor in our communities. Today it is their school, tomorrow it may be your child that has te be unsettled and moved to another school!

Waiting for the outcome of the High Court review
The Western Cape High Court has heard the review application of the schools and the provincial department of education... Judgement is expected in a few weeks time. We are holding our thumbs in anticipation of the outcome...

DA education MEC Donald Grant closed 20 of the 27 schools. VICTORY!!! We managed to save SEVEN schools this round! We saved a number in the preliminary stage before he published his notice of intend. NOW we must fight in this round to have his decisions …

This week is crunch time.... Western Cape education MEC Donald Grant is to announce his final decision on his intention to close down 27 poor black schools. Let us all join hands in a final push to sign the petition in time for submission....
