Some of us knew her as Gail; others as Sheila, Eva, or Annie. She lived in San Jose on Lincoln Avenue, and later San Carlos Street, where she was stabbed to death on August 13, 2012.
We miss her, we mourn her violent death.
Designate a donation of any size to the Julian Street Inn (part of the InnVision Shelter Network). It's one thing we can do to try to prevent other homeless mentally ill people from dying the senseless way Gail did.
Julian Street Inn is the only facility in Santa Clara County that provides emergency shelter to clients diagnosed with mental illness. We have 70 beds available for individual men and women diagnosed with mental illness and actively engaged in the mental health care system. Clients may stay for up to 60 days.
