Here's what $10 can do for a pound puppy: give him a comfy bed! Or you could provide him with training, toys, food, or an outside exercise yard.

Your donation helps our friends at shelters provide a better life for the puppies and dogs in their care, and improves every dog's chance of successful adoption. All these donations also help cats in shelters with beds, food, and extra care too!

Had a great meeting with Petfinder Foundation this week. Here's a quick rundown on all The Animal Rescue Site and your donations have helped them do in 2012: vaccinate 4654 cats and 5680 dogs in shelters, provide more than $20,000 in emergency assistance to shelters hit by natural disasters (Colorado wildfires and East Coast/Gulf hurricanes), expand the Rescue U program to 18 states with plans to be in all 50 by 2013, give more than 14,000 Hide, Perch & Go cat carriers to shelters and...

Here's a quick rundown on all The Animal Rescue Site and your donations have helped them do in 2012: vaccinate 4654 cats and 5680 dogs in shelters, provide more than $20,000 in emergency assistance to shelters hit by natural disasters (Colorado wildfires and East Coast/Gulf hurricanes), expand the Rescue U program to 18 states with plans to be in all 50 by 2013, give more than 14,000 Hide, Perch & Go cat carriers to shelters and rescue groups, expand the Train to Adopt program to even more shelters (look for them in Rhode Island next!), and help hundreds of shelters with grants ranging from $1,000 to $5,000 through the $300,000 Shelter+ Program this year.

October is ADOPT A SHELTER DOG month. If you don't have room for one more pup in your house, consider being a volunteer dog walker or dropping off a donation at your local shelter.

We finished up our August campaign with $56,000+ to give to Petfinder.com. Thank you again to everyone who helped us save even more dogs through their wonderful programs. You can still keep making contributions in September. There's always a puppy out there who needs a helping paw.

We topped $45,000 raised to help dogs and cats in shelters -- all because of help from thousands of small donors, people who gave just $5 or $10 to help Petfinder.com Foundation's wonderful programs. THANK YOU! Now let's see if we can finish up the month by hitting our goal of raising $50,000 in 50 days for rescued animals.

Thanks everyone! Just wanted to let you know that Doug and the Rescue U crew are working this week in Grand Rapids, MI, updating a shelter and building dog beds! We'll be posting pictures as soon as we get them.
