Free The Mike Thomas, Dogs In A Box!

A situation in Wythe County Virginia regarding multiple dogs being held in a makeshift dungeon outside of Mike Thomas's home on Walton Furnace Road calls to animal advocates.
The dogs are being eaten alive with fleas and are living in their own urine and feces with little to no sunlight. One of the dogs has already died of flea anemia. Mr. Thomas refuses to surrender the dogs, the ACO and Sheriff's Office refused to remove the dogs or even cite Mr. Thomas under VA Law.
Mr. Thomas is a very violent man. He wears a large knife around his neck, has an arsenal of weapons in his home, and recently shot at a young boy trying to save one of the dogs that escaped. This is the primary reason why negotiations for the surrender of the dogs have failed.
At this point the only recourse is to demand that Animal Control remove the dogs. Myself and many other residents have contacted the Sheriff and AC over the past two years to no avail. Unfortunately the Wythe Shelter is a high kill shelter and AC is not very friendly to rescuers.
I am asking that everyone contact the Sheriff, ACO, the County Administrator, and Board and demand that these dogs be removed and released to a rescue group. I will personally make sure, should AC choose to release the dogs, that they will be rescued from the shelter.

These dogs have been there 2 years..... imagine that life...
