Negra, the Queen of the Cle Elum Seven chimpanzees, has a wish for her birthday - a cabin on Young's Hill, the 2-acre habitat that is the newest part of her sanctuary home.
The cozy cabin will allow her venture outside to enjoy the view from a sheltered lookout.
Negra's birthday is celebrated today - June 13th, the day the chimpanzees arrived at Chimpanzee Sanctuary Northwest after years of use as biomedical research subjects.
From a laboratory in Pennsylvania to their Washington home, from living in a windowless basement to enjoying the warmth of the direct sun and feeling a gentle cool breeze for the first time, those formerly broken souls have reason to live because of supporters like you.
